Robert Cameron Law Cycling Series p/b PISE - June 5-7, 2015

Post by Der Radfahrer »

Hi Tripleshot friends,

The 2015 Robert Cameron Law Cycling Series p/b PISE is scheduled for June 5-7 and we have some exciting news to announce:

On June 5, we will be hosting the Peninsula Coop Sprint Challenge at Western Speedway. The format will begin with Scratch races for each category for both men and women. Afterwards we will be doing elimination sprint races over one lap of the Speedway course, organized into heats of four racers each. Starting from a slate of 24 racers for men and same for women, the top two finishers in each knockout heat move on to the next round until the ultimate champion is crowned in the final showdown.

On June 6, we will continue with the Metchosin Cycling Classic but will not be hosting the BC Championships this year. That being said, we will encourage racers of all categories and age groups to participate.

On June 7, we are excited to bring back the Criterium around the BC Legislature. For some of you, you will remember that this race was part of Victoria's racing scene in the 1980's and was the launch pad for some of Victoria's top pro's such as Brian Walton and Alison Sydor. We are attempting to raise bike racing to another level by moving the venue to the BC Legislature, increase and improve the spectator experience, and enhance our family friendly events.

Also on June 7 will be the Tim Horton's Timbits Challenge and the GAIN Celebrity Bike Relay.

John Dower will be coordinating for tripleshot volunteers again this year. We will need most of our volunteer support for the metchosin Road Race as marshals and for Setup/Teardown for the BC Legislature Criterium. Any dedicated time to help us with our event is greatly appreciated.

Lastly, we are looking to fill two additional positions on our organizing committee.

1) Prize Coordinator: Gather, Sort, and Distribute prizes for athletes and volunteers
2) Package Pickup coordinator: Create race packages for athletes, assign race numbers, verify athlete registration w/ licenses.
3) Results Coordinator: Are you a Microsoft Excel Guru? Job is to translate results info into official results that will be printed and posted.

I am offering free beer to both the person who volunteers and beer to the person who is successful in finding and recruiting for me.

Thank you!
