Oh Deer!

Re: Oh Deer!
Wow!! On looking at the video, I am compelled to write a poem, but thought a haiku might be better.
At the Golden Gate
A deer leaps into my path
I taste the asphalt

Oh Deer! And Poetry? These are a few of my favourite things. When the dog bites. When the bee stings. When I'm feeling sad. I simply remember my favourite things. And then I don't feel so bad.
....
I was inspired by a deer to write a poem earlier this year. For those new to Victoria's cycling scene there is a certain vegan cyclist in Victoria who is an animal rights activist and thinks we must protect the deers' habitat. Let's just say he and I disagree.
"Oak Bay's Beautiful Edible Rats" by Alan Cassels
Delicious long lashes and eyes creamy brown,
the deer roam freely invading our town.
While vegans on podiums arouse with a sermon,
forget that poor Bambi and her kin are but vermin.
A deer hunter they'll say is a mean vigilante,
but they've never tried Bambi with a vintage Chianti.
