Race Update (aka Peter FINALLY passes Bill!)

Post by Plawless »

So it was a really pleasant October evening for a TT (unfortunately it was still August :( ) . I started 3 points back of Bill and needed (to salvage just a tiny bit of pride) to finally get past him in the overall - thankfully the rain dripped then stopped and the wind blew but wasnt nuts and I managed to do the deal. Whew! That monkey is finally off my back.

In more favourable reporting I had a look at the VCL overall points (and by "had a look" I mean I was glued to the computer all day until they were posted) and see that our club has 12 riders who have scored points so far in the season. We have 10 B riders plus 1 woman and one A rider. Well done Tripleshot. We are clearly THE club in Victoria. :D

Plus not only are we on the scoreboard but we are packing the top of it. Leading the charge is BigRing Taylor in 4th overall with Roland and Joe following in 8th and 9th respectively. 3 in the top 10 is awesome gang!

Next up is yours truly in 11th and Gavin in 13th. And we are still looking to have the big men move up in the last 4 races with 2 more TT's for me and a couple of Hill Climbs for Gavin (side note - how the hell does he go up so fast? :? )

The Hipster (Bill) drops only slightly to 15th (by a hip I expect). Further down we have Dylan plus Dave S, Anthony and Jairus - all of whom can still move up ........ IF THEY SHOW UP!

Scott Martin is our big man in the A's and Kim G. is the hill climb demon of the season so far. She is now sitting in 4th overall for the women (and has 2 more HCs to come!!!)

So last few weeks of the seasona re here. If you havent been out yet there are only 4 chances left and they are all good "easy" ones. No more bunch races its all solo efforts either on the flat tt course in sidney :D or for the whippets among you on the 2 remaining hill climbs

What a great way to end what has been so far a fantastic season of Tripleshot Racing.... plus you can get that first race out of the way in 2009 and come out in 2010 ready to go to work. After all you dont get to go Pro without pinning on a number

Peter is being very modest about his ride last night at the time trial. He won the B race and joined the under 25min elites. He even beat a few very good A riders (eg. Hugh Trenchard and Steve Bachop who is 2nd in points in the A league).
