Monday Aug 25
Anyone have Monday off with nothing to do for about 6 hours? I am planning my last long and somewhat intense ride before I start to taper for the Whistler Gran Fondo Forte (now doesn't that sound impressive!!??).
Here it is: http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/511883548
I'll leave Discovery Coffee on Discovery at 7 AM after a triple shot in the dark!
I can't make it out on Sunday so I thought I would make myself pay for my slothfulness!
Barton.

Hi Barton,
I have tentatively planned to ride to Lake Cowichan Monday am via Cowichan Bay, so I would be able to join you for the first part of your ride. ...... I was hoping to leave at 6:00 but 7:00 would be fine, unless you would be willing to split the difference. I'll buy coffee.
I'll let you know if plans change for any reason.

Hi Barton,
Sounds good. There is a chance my plans could change but I would let you know as soon as possible.

Are you boys going crazy? I can try to hang on for awhile, if you want the company?

Thanks Andrew for the first 70 K! The next 101 was tough! All done now except for the hard part; rest and recovery!

Hi Barton,
Thank you for the first 70 km .... and allowing me to continue on my relatively flat ride to Honeymoon Bay. I hope you enjoyed the ride up to Koksilah road from where I left you in Duncan, it had to be the steepest part of your ride ..... except perhaps the last few hundred meters of Goldstream Heights.
Sorry you couldn't have joined us Julie...you missed the interesting part of the ride when Barton had a flat on the Malahat and realized he had a CO2 cartridge but no inflator!
Have a good week!
Andrew
P.S. I would definitely be interested in your homemade power bar recipe Barton ... if you don't mind sharing
