Tour de Victoria
Mandy and I are registered for this ride next weekend. Who else is going to ride? Interested in a team coffee before the start?

Re: Tour de Victoria
At lease one solid coffee will be the minimum. Are you guys riding the 145km route? I would actually prefer to have a solid group for the route and if someone had a flat or mechanical it would still stick together. What time and where were you thinking, Discovery on Menzies perhaps, maybe 6:15-6:30?

Yes to the 145 km route. Depending on what we arrange with the kids, 6:15 would be perfect for a coffee or two! Disco at Menzies makes sense - watch this space for updates.

I'm in too. Is Disco open that early? I remember last year we met at Serious instead.

Both Discovery and Serious in James Bay open at 630. Up the block adjacent to Thrifties is the Starbucks that's up and running from 530. No chance for a delay in caffeine before the big ride. They also have killer peanut butter cookies, but really no pressure.

Re: Tour de Victoria
Kind of wish I was riding with you folks this year! Anyone with a registration they cann't use?!?!?!
Anyway, the last couple years I talked with the Serious coffee guy about opening early and he did. Disco was not interested the two years I talked with them.
Starbuck's will be fine I am sure!!
Enjoy and be safe.

Just a note based on my experience last year. If you're interested in a sizzling time on the TdV, it pays to show up early at the start line. The group of us that went for coffee ended up in the starting chute for people planning on a 7 hour ride because we couldn't get any closer to the start. I think we were more than halfway back. It's not a huge deal, but if you want to grab a fast wheel you probably want to be closer to the front--hence earlier to show up.
Then again, sometimes coffee is the priority, and I can totally relate to that. Good luck to those riding! I might wander down to the finish to watch.

Maybe a quick coffee or better yet take the remainder to keep warm on the starting line. Leave Starbucks at 630 promptly and chill out until it's ride time.
