Well it went pretty darn good. Started strong and went out hard (with a slight tailwind that was getting worryingly stronger as I neared the turnaround). Sure enough hit the turnaround faster than expected and slogged it out back. Results still werent posted by the time Karen and I left Squamish but I think I was around 54:35 (40.1km/h avg) so I beat my goal and was 1:10 (ish) faster than last year.

Look out Chicken Leg - I am coming for you.....

Nice work. Did you ride the cervelo or the berg?

rode the cervelo - it was great. Really hurt coming back though. A couple of folks faster than me were 30" $ 45" slower this year versus 2008. I knew itwas bad when I hit the turnaround at 26:30. The way homewas 28:00. That is a headwind!

Congrats, Pete! A minute off is huge..
I hear that steady-state TT efforts pay big dividends for sprint leadout specialists - haha

And not just a minute off, Pete got third, ('Lance' place):

Master Men 30-39
1st- Joe Wessell
2nd- Jonathan Braunstein
3rd- Peter Lawless

Woohoo! And he did it without playing mind games with his teammates.

PS Didn't Jon Braunstein ride with us when he was doing a rotation in Victoria? That should be enough to claim him as ours, isn't it?

PPS, just noticed that the two ahead of him were 30-34, but it's all one category. Way to take it to the punks Pete.
