Boden's bike beaten by a Bollard
People have asked after the epic crash on the goose about the bike ("....enough about you, what about the bike") and I have attached below the new Specialized Roubaix S-Works Folding Bike for your viewing pleasure. Note the opportunity for optional unicycle action if desired.

I could ride that 'unicycle' but sheesh, what a mess.
Sorry for your pain, but I have to admit that such a photo makes me want to poeticize, so:
A Toast to Strong Bikes
It’s true they say, he’s grown quite snobby,
eschewing carbon, his latest hobby.
Galloping free on his titanium steed,
disguising disdain for that carbon breed.
You gotta admit carbon’s light and svelte,
but only one pole away from a fiery melt?
And my carbon footprint is now Lilliputian,
since downing a double of that Litespeed potion.

Back when I still had an actual answering machine (and bikes were made of bronze), my message said "Do leave a message but remember, brevity is next to godliness." To wit:
Carbon fibre bikes
Fast yes, but also brittle
No match for steel posts
Next up, a limerick from Rolf or Rooks....

Can't believe I'm posting this. A haiku for the frame materials debate.
Carbon bike splinters
Costly, but maybe better
than splintered body?

Just a thought Alan. Before you throw the bike away, send some photos to Roberts composites. The principals' nephew rides a track frankenframe made from three other broken bikes. If he trusts repairs for a relative on Burnaby velodrome under a 200 lb kid, it might be repairable.

Walking home the other day I saw one of these, not sure if it is the right size head tube though a bollard would be no match... Only $50 too!
