What's better than returning an empty Hoyne keg?

Post by BearPope Recruit »

Dropping off 120lbs in donations to the Mustard Seed!

The first session of the women's clinic wrapped up last Thursday night with a fun "Feed the Seed" alleycat race hosted by Broad Street Cycles and Stuckylife. Hoyne Brewing is a great sponsor of the club and clinic and donated a keg of pilsner for the ladies to enjoy post ride with snacks and pizza. Speed and smarts combined to get all the teams around to the various cornerstore checkpoints. The ladies returned with a variety of canned goods, bags of sugar and flour, as well as the "lightest load" winner, Terra, picking up a variety of dental hygiene products! Heaviest bag went to the "Olives" (Lynne, Catherine & Lise) at 30lbs and honorable mention to Barb for her 21lbs!

A huge thanks to the coaches who returned for another year and the new ones for stepping in and commiting to make this spring successful and getting more women comfortable and confident cycling! Special kudos to Glenowyn for tackling the updates to the lesson plans as we continue to expand and improve what is being offered. Deb continued the weekly email communication to riders, and Kate took on the new facebook page and updated the 2014 online feedback survey. Brenna, Shawn, Kristin, Paula, Barb & Tarryn rounded out an awesome certified coaching team! Michelle, Shannon and Clara are also stepped in to fill spots throughout the 7 weeks as necessary, which was much appreciated! Please pass on a word of thanks when you see them out on the next TS ride!

The second session, including a level 2, will be rolling again next week and thanks to Glenowyn, Kristin, Barb, Brenna, Tarryn & Clara for continuing to offer this series for local female riders!

Happy Pedaling, Jen

It was a pleasure! Kudos also to Jen who put in serious hours getting this clinic off the ground. I look forward to helping out with some sessions of the second clinic. Teamwork!
