As is so often the case, the 7 minute video of Cancellara's inspiring chase/descent has been removed due to copyright claims. However, there is a shorter version still on youtube:

And speaking of bike handling, recent adventures with the Tripleshot crew have reminded me that I need to upgrade my basic handling skills - braking, steering and countersteering, weight shifting, high speed control, etc. Lister, would you be interested in putting on a skills clinic for folks like me? I'd rather not learn from "misadventure"...

I'm willing to do a clinic or two on bike handling. I'm away two out the next three weeks, but maybe after that?
It wouldn't really fit with one of the regular rides, or at least we'd be asking people to give up most of their workout to play games on grass and or a parking lot. Maybe a Monday morning or evening?
Off the top of my head, I'm thinking the following skills:
bumping shoulders, looking back, touching wheels, protecting your bars, hard braking, cornering (countersteering, speed adjustment, line, weighting).

Content sounds good, Lister - maybe a Saturday morning? (early evening, as in 7 pm to 8:30 in September might work also) My sense is that people like me who value the opportunity to build vital skills are going to do the tradeoff vis a vis workout time. The Wednesday a.m. "farm team' ride might also be a good opportunity to work in a series of skills exercises week by week and still complete the ride.
Re curriculum: maybe a combination of theory and discussion for 5-10 minutes, a demo by you or someone else, followed by a "learn by doing" routine at an appropriate location - e.g., for braking and countersteering, one place that comes to mind is the diving right hand hairpin turn off Cad Bay Rd thru the Uplands gates.
Let's revisit this topic at the end of August... any else have ideas?
