Fastest A ride ever this morning!!

Post by Josh.E »

It was a pretty intimidating A group that rolled out of pareto this morning.
Strava KOMs fell all over the place. Some people got over 25 leaderboard tophies on one ride.

From the turn off shelbourne onto feltham until beacon hill, the average speed was 41.8km/h :D
Good times.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

I joined at the top of Ash - the pack looked like a herd of snorting bulls! Very awesome (and frightening). And a FANTASTIC ride. super hard and fast and no-one seemed to be there for the express purpose of dropping others - it was more a collective "lets hurt ourselves" - EXACTLY what I think the A ride should be. So Chapeau to all who participated.

the only complaint I have is that the bulk of the group took off for their own seperate / secret coffee. I have to say that I dont think this is cool. I think one of the best parts of the TSC ride is the chance I have at Coffee to lie to you about why I *ahem* chose to sit up and skip a lap etc. To me the TS ride is a whole package that starts at Pareto and doesnt finish until after coffee.

Dont get me wrong I think its fine (but sad!) to have to go to work etc but if you are able to take the time to have coffee and be social I think its really kinda rude to do it somewhere else. I think going somewhere else says to me "I'm going to crash your ride cause its a good ride, but Im going to go somewhere else for coffee becasue I dont want to risk having to socialize with you people".....

Now I KNOW that is not the intended message but ...

At the end of the day if my ride is good enough to pedal along with I really wish everyone would come say hi at coffee....

Plus, there's also the serious issue of insurance, waivers and liability w.r.t. non-members.

One of these years I'll be able to keep up with an A ride and you do NOT want to listen to me go on about insurance. Just ask the B ride... :o

I'd love to join for coffee every TS ride I'm on but it makes it incredibly hard to be at work on time. When I can make it I love to swap pain cave stories over a good java. I'll be out more often as the summer approaches.
Last Friday's ride was fun. I was surprised it was so fast. It was nice to see so many guys pulling through and working hard. I think the larger group gave enough people a chance to hide when they needed to until they were ready to contribute again.
See you all Friday.
