I thought it very telling that the very last person to write in the forum was Fairweather Mike. The weather this morning was far from fair! It was very wet, for the first half of the ride. I rode by the Jubilee Centre on my way to the farm team meeting spot. There was one person at Jubilee, Christian. I arrived at the church at Richmond and Richardson and stood there, alone, for a few minutes, leaving, alone, at about 6:07.
I knew I was in for a wet one. I had not realized I was in for a windy one as well! I rode north, in the dark, in the wind, in the rain, alone! I just kept telling myself, This is good for me, Really! All I had to do was make it to Shelbourne and turn right on Ash then the wind would be at my back! Well almost at my back. By the time I made it to Gordon Head and Arbutus I was soaked! But, it had stopped raining. At the top of the hill by Haro, I saw a lone rider heading towards me. It was Peter L, hollering out, "Farm Team?" I hollered back, "Farm Team Singular!" We rode into coffee together in the dawn, a light breeze at our backs, and no rain!
It was a great ride! Weenies! Sure glad I got up and out of bed this morning. By the way, Peter bought coffee this morning. He doesn't have buy again for weeks!! Hope to see many of you out on Friday!
