Leechtown Saturday Jan 18, Cross/Roadie

Post by sylvan »

Leaving Douglas/Alpha Charbucks at 8:00 am. B1-ish, off-season solid training pace. Cross bikes mostly probably. Road bikes are good unless your tires suck. If you have something like 28 mm Gratorskins you're golden. There's a bunch of foliagical detritus all over the trail on the last stretch before Leechtown, otherwise it's all quality trail conditions. Fenders optional. No whining. 110 km return trip. 12:30 pm estimated return if there aren't too many or any flats.

Can't make it this morning but would love to join you next time. I've been eyeballing your route and wanting to give it a go. Have a good one.

Sure. I'd be up for that. Sounds like a good time.

It ended up being pretty vile, but we got some Starva trophies and the training effect will probably end up being pretty positive. Kate bumped her knee on a post and Glenowyn bailed on a bridge but both showed solid Rule #5 adherence and were able to continue. Nelson and Callender were the worst sadists at the front but nobody really cried about the pace.
