As many of you know Chris was in hospital yesterday for an open heart procedure. Jen tells me that it went very well and he is recovering nicely. He has now been moved out of the ICU onto the ward. It will be a few days yet before he is allowed visitors but all is going well.

One of my best friends (also named Chris) had open heart surgery last year at 38 years old. Despite the sternum-splitting, extreme nature of the procedure, he was back to splitting cords of wood by axe and surfing within four or five months.

I wish you an equally successful recuperation, Chris.

Great news Chris. Look forward to you breaking our legs in the TTT with your new engine.

I checked the UCI rules. It doesn't count as doping. Especially if you send a cheque. :)

Good morning to you all. Thank you so much for all your kind words. It has been a really rough week but as each day passes I see a little bit of progress. The good news is that they were able to repair my mitral valve. I sure miss riding with you guys and look forward to sharing the road together sometime soon.
