Jairus KILLS the Sprint Triathlon

Post by Plawless »

Tripleshot's own Jarius Streight won the Sprint Tri this morning at Elk Lake. 8) 8) 8) Way to go Jairus. What a way to get back into competiton (ask Jairus sometime about what level he has done this stuff at - it will blow your mind.)

Awesome work - I am looking forward to reading the blog and to keeping up with things as Jairus makes his big comeback!

...and Peter kills the bike leg of the Half Iron. Posting the 18th fastest time on the bike leg - 87 km in 2:26:47 (avg 35.6km) and he got me a free cookie!

Looked like a fun event. I'm almost tempted to try it.

Jairus,
Wait to go, Mr former-Worl_ Champio_ship-level triathlete! Thought that the comeback was gonna take a few YEARS of training! How about a couple of months.. What's next?

And Pete, Holy shit!
Thought that you looked like a machine when I saw you out Cerveloing Saturday pm!

You covered 19 km more than we did in the team time trial, at not even 2.5 km/h lower average speed, and, oh yeah, there were 3 more of us to share the work!!

Hey Pete, we were looking for you this morning on our Tripleshot Sunday ride, but it seemed no one caught sight of you. Too fast for our sorry asses, I guess. It's too bad, we had a heap of heckling ready to let loose...

Alan, he wouldn't have caught our attention anyhow, since he didn't have any mind-blowingly "nice armwarmers" on!

That might hurt, Art Boy, except the
skinny erection
is a low-slung, long-nosed torpedo powered by a 350-cubic-inch Chevy engine, a race car with an official top speed of 300.300 mph. Its rear end swoops up smartly to create a boxlike chamber behind which the bike rides. The upper part of the aerodynamic structure has a Plexiglas windshield through which Howard can see the road ahead. Just below the windshield is a rear-facing speedometer and a small sign that says FASTER, YOU FOOL!

See, I didn't make it up!

And in one shining moment on Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats, it all came together. His 6'2", 170-pound frame hunched over a strange-looking two-wheeled contraption, his legs pumping out a smooth 130 rpm, Howard set a new world land speed record for bicycles of 152.284 mph.

Hahaha - thanks, I think, Brian!
Like an ostrich pulling its head of its, er, the sand, now I see it. Don't know though, why Pete's drinking out of a
