Tour de France - live

Post by MWhiticar »

Greetings from (finally) sunny and hot Europe.

Had a great day in Nice watching the TTT last Tuesday. I was simply amazed at how fast these guys were going...the team cars were racing to keep up! Truly spectacular, and zilliions of people.

It was fun to wander past all the team buses and see the bike few of us have seen or could own (or would ever need to).

Imagine my surprise as Mark Cavandish and Andy Schleck casually rode by me about a metre away on their pre-race warmups.

I took some (OK lots) of pictures, but I am not sure where to post them on TS if anyone cares.. Steephill has much better anyway.

My next viewing is July 18 as I'll ride up l'Alpe d'Huez very early (and slowly) to see the beasts roar past me twice on that day... should be fun (the watching I mean).

I miss my rides with you all, but reading the forum keeps the memories going.

Have a good summer riding.

It doesn't really need saying, Michael, but you are une lucky derrière. We'll look for you in your Borat mankini on the Alpe.

There were two mankini's today. Eyes. Cannot. Unsee.
I've got an obnoxious helmet. It's green.
