On the Magical Mailbox

Post by katew »

Dang, I had fun on Tuesday morning. That is, when the red mist faded away.

Funny. For four years I've always sprinted for the second Uplands Estates driveway. And now you tell me there's a special mailbox? What's next? You're going to say coffee's optional? My world is shaken.

For me (and I learned it from other A riders) the finish line is a blend of the Kate and Rolf perspectives: the funny line in the asphalt!

The mailbox helps because you can see it up the road, signalling that the pain is almost over (for now). To be honest I never noticed the driveway. Sorry, Rolf.

Has anyone else noticed that it sometimes smells like cooked rice in front of the driveway to the Henderson rec centre? Often that's the only thing that gets me out of bed on Tuesday mornings.

Thanks, Shawn. That clears things up.

I only ever smell four things on morning rides: coffee, bacon, marijuana and victory. The last one I smell every time I drag my arse out of bed - even before I get on the bike. The other three? Only when we're lucky.

Rolf, you told me that you put the first three into your morning smoothie.
