Vic to Cow 2013

Hi folks.
The Victoria Wheelers are putting on another edition of the classic Vic to Cow via Renfrew ride this summer on August 25. This was an awesome ride back in 2011 and with the recent road upgrades this year's event is sure to be an amazing experience.

Details are still being hashed out but some things are for certain:
- it will be a fully supported ride with a club van to hold gear, tools, bikes, bonked riders, food and hydration (both of which will be provided)
- finish line BBQ
- transportation back to Vic from Cow on a bus
- free for Wheelers or $25 for non members

How cool is that?

Sure beats the $300 the Victoria Gran Fondo wants to help you to Cowichan, en route back to Victoria. (Talk about restricting events to MAMILS on Pinarellos in Sky kit!)

Speaking of other rides, I understand there is talk of Tripleshot supporting a small group doing the full loop on July 7. Would be good to hear more about that one, too...

I have been corresponding with Kim Gard about the upcoming Victoria to Cowichan ride, and she mentioned that there are still 15 spots open. Some of you may remember what a great event the OBB crew put on in 2011, with the rolling support and food along the way. For only $25, this is one awesome day of riding.
If you are interested, please be sure to note the following message from the organizers:

"There is a 'minimum speed requirement'. Need to AVERAGE at least 27kms hr for the distance. I also want to ensure that if they haven't done this distance before...they have done multiple 120-130 km rides. This is a supported ride but we have limited support vehicles..so can't be rescuing too many people. I will also ask them questions when they sign up."
