Biffing your bike

Post by Quentin »

There was a discussion this morning of the many awesome bike biffings that have happened over the years, here are a few of my favourites.

Wiggins tries to biff his bike, but his Pinarello has a better idea:

David Millar breaks his chain and takes it out on the bike:

From the Ironman Championships a few years back, Norman Stadler gets a 2nd flat during the bike course in Kona, biffs his bike in to lava rocks and breaks down:

Got any favourite bike biffings to add to the list?

The tri guy makes me wonder. A nine hour event and he can't do a 2 minute tube change?

He was defending Ironman champ, so I don't think it was really the pressure in his tube that drove him over the edge.

I can't contribute to the biffies, but I can't seem to stop watching this Friday afternoon cycling video. Caution: crashporn.

Closer to home, I recall Barton doing an impressive bike biff after an unfortunate encounter with a bus.

Tough figure out what happened here. I've seen comments suggesting that the motorcyclist ran into the bikes because he was fixated on them (where you look is where you go), but his lack of reaction seems to indicate he was fixated on something else and simply didn't see them until it was too late.

Wiggo again - really a half biff, but it does go derailleur-side down.
