Thanks to you 13 who put up with me on this ride. It was awesome. My longest ride of the year, with the steepest pitches. It was nice to be able to ride with you "A" level riders and learn from you. I know waiting for us at the meeting spots stretches your ride out, but it is appreciated.

In case you were wondering where I went at the end:

Just after we all pulled out onto the highway at the South Shawnigan turn off, I hit something which caused an instant rear tire flat. I called "flat" twice, but we were going fast, and between the wind noise and the traffic noise, I could not be heard. So I performed the fasted tire change of my life, including making a tire boot out of a bar wrapper to patch the huge slice across my tire, and remounted. I TTed the Malahat so hard I made it cry. When I got to Spencer road I could see about 6 TSers ahead. I got stuck at the light, and then again waiting to merge after the Costco road, and I could not close the gap. I eventually caught Michael W and John D on the Goose near Mackenzie. Sorry I made you wait. I understand Alysha and Mark never did show at Spencer either. I hope they made it back ok. Did you two turn at Westshore Parkway?

Anywho...a great day. The weather, the ride, the climbs (afterwords) and the people, all great.

Thanks for the group ride today - I sucked many a wheel. Thanks Ramsay for the "hand on the back" pushes up the hills.

I stayed back with Alyisha to ride down the Malahat. It was her first time down. We took the Goldstream exit and then the Galloping Goose. I am sorry if this delayed the rest of you at Spenser Road.

Ride safe.

That was a great ride - and with 14 people, one of the biggest TS Goldstream Heights rides in recent memory. Glad to hear everyone got back OK.

Eric - sorry we didn't hear you call "Flat!" or we would have stopped. And no worries about holding the "As" up - this was advertised as a "no drop ride"...otherwise I'd never have made it either!

Was I the only one who needed a nap yesterday afternoon?
