This Sunday: Hammerfest XC

Vancouver Islands legendary Hammerfest Cross Country Mountain Bike Race takes place Sunday April 26th in Errington, B.C. It will be the third Island Cup XC race in the 2009 series.

The race, hosted by Cycling BC’s 2007 Mountain Bike Club of the Year, Arrowsmith Mountain Bike Club, will be spectacular! Riders can expect the greatest XC course ever seen on the Island.

The course will be a single lap, 90% single track. The climbs will demand skill and endurance - prepare for more than you might expect in a single lap. The decents will be worth every effort spent climbing, featuring sweeping traverses and forest loam single track. The course will take you past ocean views and old growth cedar, you will be riding tonnes of Hammerfest's finest single track trails.

Come on out and race this Island legend, categories (with course adjustments) for Beginner, Intermediate and Expert riders.

Day of Event insurance available, Cycling BC licenses fulfill license requirements.

Registration starts at 10am, Racing at 12

Entry fee $10

Basic Concession available, draw prizes to follow race.

Anybody racing? I could lend you a mountain bike.

how did you get on this forum? There used to be a "Lister" but I think the consensus was that he was kidnapped by Aliens who were (hopefully) conducting all sorts of unspeakable experiments on him. Who are you? Do you even own a bike? Would you like to ride with our club?

I have temporary custody of several classic bi, er relics. Just watching over them until St Lance comes to perform a miracle. And turn cancer into cash, and steel into carbon.
