Walla walla updates

Post by Lister Farrar »

From Brenna
well that was awesome!!!!!!!!!

I have to say that I have just raced in my best and most fun crit ever!! I have to say I was a bit leery of being able to stay on considering i have never raced in a cat 3 race before, but it turned out to be awesome!!!! I stayed in the front to mid pack the whole time and moved up in the easier parts, I even got a prime near the end, and I think I finished about top 15, but I'll have to check. I kind of got boxed in the middle in the last lap, but ended up getting around some people. all in all it was a lot of fun, and I felt pretty comfortable in the corners, I think the practice really helped, so thank you!!!! I was the top cycling bc girl, which feels kind of nice I have to say:) I guess all the training is paying off so far. It is supper hot here, but I am supper stoked for the tt now!!!

From Alex. (top team Bc girl in tt)
It was good. Very hard and really hot !!! But its fun. I did pretty well on the cornering, I mean that I got better at it. Brenna did really well in the races so far, and so did all the other girls. The crit was good. I don't know where I finished in it. It was kinda scary at times because people were cutting me off on the corners sometimes. The Tt was good and very very hard. The hill was very very hard !!! But i think I did okay in it.

It was ok, but not my best. It was super warm out, and the hill was kind of hard. But there was almost no wind which was pretty good. I went really hard up the hill and crested it well, but something just wasn't there.

Haven't had a report, but Evan appears to be finishing top third in each stage in cat 3.

Walla walla updates

Post by Roland »

Everybody has been riding well from what I've seen. Full results are here: http://www.tofww.org/index.php?id=28

Evan look good in the first RR and crit but unfortunately dropped his chain in the TT and had to stop to put it back on.

Brenna looked good in the RR, finishing 18th, just behind Gillian ellsay in a sprint finish. Bad luck for Alex who dropped her chain on the first climb. It then got wrapped around the crank and stuck behind the derailler. Big mess. She got it fixed, but had a long ride by herself.

Evan is still out racing.

Adam was impressive to watch in the 1-2 crit, spending a lot of time on the front dictating the pace and trying to make a break happen. No luck on staying away, but still managed 6th in the final sprint.

He was 17th in the TT, top Red Truck rider.

A rough crit for Emile who was crashed out last lap. Broken collar bone on one side, broken forearm and wrist on the other side. Not sure if he's out of hospital yet, will try and get an update from the Russ Hays guys.

I think I counted 11 victoria riders here, plus more from up island and Vancouver. Strong BC.presence and getting lots of great results.

Weather is almost 30 degrees. Country side is beautiful. Walla Walla is one of the friendliest towns I've ever been to. Well organized... I strong recommend everybody put this race on their schedule for next year.

Adam won the Pro-1-2 road race and finished second in the GC to Rob Britton. Amazing ride.

I saw Emile, one arm in a sling and a cast past his elbow. At least he was up and about.

Good going Alex,Brena.Evan and others in Walla Walla. And amazing race for Adam De Vos...... Sounds like quite a big event ,from looking at the results. Even a separate category for Masters Men and Women. Maybe we should make it a major Tripleshot weekend and road trip in 2013???? "Argyle to America !"

Roland is my first reference for picking events. He suggested StarCrossed too and he was right on.
