Please let families with interested kids know. All they have to do is approach their school athletic director, and be registered via http://www.sd61.bc.ca/athleticassoc/index.htm. No license required or entry fees. Mix of mtb, road, cx, track and BMX events.

Most races are Tuesdays at 5:00.

2009 Lower Island School Cycling League

The 2009 Lower Island School Cycling League is for all middle and high schools in school districts 61, 62, and 63. It is a developmental series, with a variety of disciplines of competitive events modified for beginners that count towards a school ranking, yet accommodate riders aiming for the BC School Championship. Notes:
• Road events are being investigated. These will depend on an existing event accommodating the school league, to share road closures.
• Dates subject to review by host organizations
• Dates avoid track and field meet dates for middle and high school.
• Rain: All dates rain or shine except velodrome and BMX.
• A regular mountain bike is appropriate for all events, except the velodrome and BMX where bikes are provided courtesy of greater Victoria Velodrome Association and Greater Victoria BMX. For road events, many mountain bikes can be adapted with inexpensive slick tires.
• All riders must register through their school.
• Schools declarations due March 11. Final registration 4 days before each event.
