Week end Roads

Post by Brian S »

Got out for some secret training early this afternoon. Stretches of the peninsula did receive snow and freezing rain Friday night. Hunt Rd in places was downright UGLY, with ice, frozen slush and other road conditions that better belong in northern Ontario. Lots seemed to be melting, but some parts just never saw the sun. I came back south after going around the airport and East Saanich with some melting crud on the shoulder. Wallace was surprisingly OK. So heads up out there!

You were spotted on the goose today Brian :) - those baby blues make stealth riding hard.

I came home thru there today. Lochside/Martindale/Welch were dry for the most part, with a couple of spots on Welch that were sunlight deprived and still a but slushy. Hunt road was also mostly clear expect for the section from the turnoff at the bottom of Sayward to where it bears left and heads down the hill. That section was wet and slushy but passable. That was around noon. Must have been downright nasty earlier in the morning.
