Cycle Cross Saturday

Post by glenowyn »

I want to bring back Cycle Cross Saturday morning rides. We could either do Thetis and Stewart to the dump or Royal Road Trails. If 7 at Starbucks by Mayfair or Switch Bridge works, let me know

We had the discussion in front of you at coffee after the 'cross race. Perhaps you were on planet Evan at the time? :)

7am Saturday at Starbucks sounds great. That is, if you don't mind having a total noob with no sillz riding with you, then I'll show up and get pwn3d.

Another n00b here.

If I don't drink too much tonight, I'll be there as well.

great. I don't know what pwn3d, just don't wear your carbon fibre road shoes and leave the mojitos for Roland, so you can come. But you are not a total n00b.

4 showed this morning for the ride. Glen is stoopid good on a bike and refuses to touch the brakes for boulders, roots, or even downed trees. Roland also obviously knows what he's doing, although I hear that Glen snaked him at every opportunity. Quentin was worthy of advanced topics such as ratcheting the pedals to get over stuff. I took my bike for a walk.

I plan to to hold the ride back and generally stink it up again next week. You should come out too!

I hope to see more crossers out next week. One precaution: Glenowyn likes to lead, and if you get in front of her she'll run you off the road or into a tree or generally pull sketchy maneuvers until she regains the lead. Other than that the ride was pretty chill and not too mountain bikey, except for the dirt jumps on prospect lake road.

Open. We're going shorter though after a hard week, competing sports, and injuries. PISE at 2:00 pm. Loop is: trail to Francis King, Munns, hydro right of way, hartland, (Durrance if we think it's looking too short), then back via rail trail, Glendale.
