Anyone want to go long tomorrow?

Post by John D »

My realtor has kicked me out of my place until noon tomorrow. So, as I see it, my options are to either ride longer or spend more time ar coffee afterward. :P

Any takers for a longer ride?

Long is in. Metchosin is my preference.

Upon reflection, I probably should've chosen the "go long" coffee option. Instead, I turned right on the Goose after Interurban and followed Marcus out to Rocky Point Road and Kangaroo Road in Metchosin. We also did one lap of the route from last week's TS Master's race for good measure (Note to self - avoid that race again next year. Sweet Jesus...why would anyone do that six times?) before heading back along Happy Valley and back to Victoria.

I ended up having my first real bonk at Metchosin Corners - the world seemed like a totally nasty place with Marcus and his hills entirely to blame. Fortunately, we stopped for a restorative Coke and chocolate bar. Sweet. Literally.

Door to door was 125km. Next week I'll bring more food. You should come, too...
