Hilly Saturday ride?

Post by John D »

A while back I heard some (possibly crazy) talk about alternating the regular Saturday sufferfest with the Shawnigan/Goldstream Heights ride. Is there still any interest in doing this, and if so, would anyone else like to make this a one a "Hilly Saturday"?

Cheers,
John

I am going to swap my regular Sunday ride for Saturday this week. Do you think we could ride Millstream Heights and still be home by 10:00? If so, count me in.

Sure, let's depart from the Alpha Street Bucky's at 6:00am - that worked well last time.

If anyone's interested, Alan and I plan on doing the regular Sunday peninsula loop after the "Hilly Saturday" ride. We're shooting to do 200km in a (vain?) attempt at preparing for the upcoming Victoria Gran Fondo. Note that the Sunday loop portion will likely be at a somewhat more stately pace than usual...right Alan?!

I'm in. Brian, 2 weeks ago our time was 4 hours 1 minute so if we leave at 6 you should be good, or not in too much trouble if you're a few minutes late.

hey -
I would love to join, but have only been on one Saturday ride (last week). Please advise if this route/ride is significantly harder.

Thanks,
Gabriel...aka, the tall guy with the running jersey and crappy shoes ;)

Gab, you're in. The hills split people up, including me, but we regroup on the flats, e.g. serious coffee Mill Bay

Continuing my remarkable training progress I am planning my once weekly bike ride so, I think I may be in for a shorter version - I might have to turn back after Mill Bay to get home in time (tail between my legs).

Mike- one weekly ride of 800 km by any chance?

I'm in barring crap weather or other lame excuses.

Cheers,
Chris
