Munns Rd: watch for the gravel

Post by Chris Watt »

Hi- just back from Highlands ride and seems there was some kind of oilspill there this morning. Road crews are out right now spreading gravel to mop it up but it's a bit of mess for an approx. 5 km stretch- from the top of that short steep hill after turning off Millstream to about Francis King Regional Park just before you hit Burnside. Spent most of the downhills on the brakes for safety. Probably better to go UP the gravelly section instead of down- ie approach clockwise from the VGH/Burnside Rd instead up approaching from the Willis Pt Rd.

Cheers,
Chris

Thanks Chris. I am planning I riding out that way tomorrow morning after coffee, up to Willis, Durrance, Millstream, Munns then maybe back the same way down Munns to Millstream and Durrance.

Anyone interested in coming along? I expect to be back downtown by 10.

Barton.
