Easter rides?
Hello long-lost (to me) TS team members,
I am getting pretty excited since I have some mornings off coming up this weekend and I am hoping that there will be some rides happening? Will you be having the usual Friday ride? What about something on Monday if anyone has the day off!? I am heart breakingly slow right now, but no better way to get back in shape than jump right back into TripleShot!
Hope you are all well and I get to see you soon!

Re: Easter rides?
I would be into High Mountain Madness! In case that sounds scary to some people its not. There are a good few spots to re-collect and parts where you can skip the climb to make sure you arent too shattered. last year we had a great bunch of folks do it and it was a spectacular ride!
I again emphasize that there is NO ONE who couldnt do this ride......

Yup, it's an awesome training ride and it lets you hit the highest paved road in our local parts - 502 metres IIRC, compared to 352 metres at the malahat summit. That is a quality accomplishment right there.Plawless wrote:In case that sounds scary to some people its not... there is NO ONE who couldnt do this ride...
Re: Easter rides?
What Peter said. Don't be afraid of trying this ride. When we've done it in the past, we've regrouped at Serious Coffee in Mill bay after the Malahat and then ride a nice easy pace as a group around Shawnigan Lake to the base of the 2nd climb.
The climb up to Goldstream estates from Shawnigan is an out and back, with a climb to the first summit (500m elevation), then a downhill, and a steep climb to the final lookout. We regroup at the lookout, and there's also the option of waiting at the first summit, which is an awesome goal point, or anywhere on the way. The group will be coming back along the same road and everyone can join back up.

I'm in - sounds like a great ride.
Re: Easter rides?
What's the distance? Can someone post a map/route from their Garmin? I'm keen to do this route Friday over any other day. Rolling out at 6am usual start time.

I didn't hit the start button until we were on the goose up closer to the hospital, so add 6km or so to that.

Re: Easter rides?
you guys/gals might wanna keep an eye of road closures on the malahat due to that idiot that spilled the tanker truck full of gasoline, they are gonna still be working on it through the weekend.
