Doublefest stats: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/66779141

Apparently the Sufferfest was about 2 km/h slower than last week, entirely because I replaced Shawn today. Still pretty solid thanks largely to Josh's colossal efforts, which seemed to end reluctantly and only after large amounts of watts had been strewn across the tarmac behind. JohnT seemed on a regular basis to also spend a lot of time on the front before pulling off. Ramsey and I and JohnG and Barton were also there contributing to the whole. It was a beautiful thing. We caught Killer B's Geoff, Hugh, uhhh, damn, I was a bit dizzy, I can`t remember everybody, at the Knockanback Grill right after the Interurban sprint. JohnT, Josh and I met up with the Oak Bay ride at Windsor and rode out to Mattick's. I felt pretty good, fatigued a bit, yes, quite a bit, but not to the extent that I ever considered not doing the full ride. I stuck with the 'B' group and rolled into Cafe Fantastico at Dockside Green with a respectable 189 km in 5:59 on the computer. Good day. No bonk. 2 eggs and toast for breakfast, 2 bananas and 2 bottles of green tea on the ride. Pretty happy with the limited fuel requirements. Thanks to Josh for helping fix my shifting problems.

Good ride for sure. Without Shawn there this week to paceline with to help put maximum "sufffer" in the ride, I was trying to focus on "longer, not harder" for my pulls today. Sylvan was understandably trying to keep it low key and steady, as he had plans to do the full oak bay 190km double. John and Ramsey were both putting in some solid efforts at the front as well.
Still ended up being a pretty solid pace overall, I think we lost most of the 2 or so km/h difference during the ride to matticks, which we did warm up pace this week. Last week we were hammering by king george terrace. By the time we hit the Oak bay ride, I was really feeling the legs after all the time on the front on the sufferfest, but probably would have stayed on for the whole loop if I had the time. I ended up going to Matticks before turning home with John. Probably a good decision as I was out of food, and started to food bonk hard about 3km from home. That would have put me around Sidney/lands end and having to deal with a food bonk, which would have sucked.
I figure I ended to day around 120-125km. Good saturday effort.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
