Anybody up for a long peninsula ride tomorrow (Thursday)?

Post by John D »

Hey...

Anybody interested in joining John T and I on a longish peninsula ride tomorrow morning? Start at Fairfield Starbucks at....7:00 or 8:00am?

Buy a headset, take the call on the bike.

Gavin;

If we were to leave at 7:00 we'd be back in plenty of time for you to make your call.

Yeah, probably. Roll at 7:20 so the bonus wonger ride riders can join in after riding at 6?

Ok, I'm in - a 7:20 roll sounds preferable to me. Might even put the fancy wheels on for a test if it's not raining....

OK, so we'll meet at the Fairfield Starbucks at 7:00 for a 7:20 roll...probably good for three hours or so thereafter.

Don't wait for me. I just spent several hours finishing up the Damocles ISP and then got the question: "You're not riding in the morning are you?" I guess those hours counted against my weekly allotment. So, we'll see. Something to note for anyone buying a bike with an integrated seat post. You no-longer have an aluminum tube for clamping to a bike stand. Also, you can't mount a rear light in the typical fashion.

Sorry for the likely last minute bail out John.

Bummer, I had to stop to fix a flat just before Mattick's. I thought I could make it, but it was totally flat and I stopped at the restaurant at the start of the last little climb. It took about half an hour to get going again, after finally getting the Michelin Krylion Carbon 25mm tire back on the rim. Toughest bead I've ever had to deal with. Ugh. I think the tube I had on had a slow leak, as opposed to getting a puncture with these new highly puncture resistant tires. :roll: I pumped it up to 100 lbs when I got home and the new tube promptly exploded. I'm going to have to go on another ride tonight to make up for the bad one this morning.

Wow, sorry about that Sylvan!!

As you had mentioned you might peel off at Matix, we thought you had just broken off early. After we got to Matix and realized you weren't with is anymore, we headed back to the school to see if we could see you just in case, but you were obviously further back. When we didn't see you, assumed you had headed off so decided to keep rolling.

Now I feel really bad about leaving a fellow Triplshotter in distress on the side of the road! SORRY!

I owe you a couple monster lead-outs on Tuesday!

Nah, no worries, I'd have just told you to get on with it, anyway. I was planning on heading back up Lochside and only went as far as I did because I was too far back at Cordova Bay/Blenkinsop to let you know I was going home. I was wondering why I got dropped so bad in Mt. Doug and finally realized when the tire went completely dead flat a little later.
