Re: 'A-Classic' Ride - 9 Sep

Trevor, Thanks very much for your encouraging post. I agree completely with what you have posted. I even gave it a go on Tuesday last week - I liked the safety net of knowing that after I was shelled on the Box I would quickly (after a solitary lap of shame, recrimination and regret) be swept up by ...

'A-Classic' Ride - 9 Sep

So we averaged over 36km/h for the ride from start to finish. I really enjoyed that ride - thanks everyone for riding hard and smooth! It seemed peppy right from the start - when all I could hear going up the hill was my laboured breathing - oh, and no one was talking - just a lot of looking at stem...

Re: Observatory Hill Challenge

I'll play, but only because I did the Strava Hill Challenge last month! My times were: 1. 55'59" (did 8 repeats with Ian who couldn't control himself and did 9  ) 2. 58'30" (did 6 repeats) (I am estimating the times as I was recording roundtrip laps from the gate at the bottom of the...

Re: Sunday August 31 cyclists

I am not totally sure. However I can confirm that I went flying past Julie this morning on the hill near Royal Vic yacht club. I went by so fast she didn't even have a chance of jumping on my wheel so I declare duel victory! (Please disregard the fact that Julie was going up the hill while I was 'as...

I think the standard holiday ride is the Sunday ride starting at 7:30 from Fairfield Starbucks. See you there!

Re: Garmin Forerunner 610

I am not sure about giving that guarantee since my recent bike/car 'experiment' had me wearing the watch - maybe I should market it as a running/cycling black box/ flight recorder!

Re: B1 Ride

It really was a good ride. Nice and tight when we were in a paceline. Generally smooth pulls. Overall, I really enjoyed that ride - Thanks everyone.

Only one small quibble:
Let's rename this ride: 'A Classic' or perhaps "Classic A'

Discuss...

So my inner cupcake is asserting itself and I may be forced to chicken out in Sooke and cycle back with Dave et al (assuming I even wake up in the morning)...

We will see!

Chris.

I echo Quentin's comments - that I am glad your bike is okay and that you posted an awesome accident report!

I will add that I am glad you are well - fortune favours the brave (or something like that).

Good luck with getting out of be tomorrow morning!

Michael.

Pretty close - except for the wind! Oh, there may also have been more shrieking on my ride but alas I have no video or audio to provide.

Re: Mountain Bike Adventure - Thursday July 3rd

So, here is a little recap of last night's "Adventure". First, we climb a mountain, then we begin to ascend, after that it just gets steeper - how delightful. Glenowyn was an excellent coach guiding us around the trails and doing her best not to laugh out loud at my shrieks and mis-steps. ...
