Re: Ditch Dude Dave

What a group! caring, concerned, amusing, but all with an edge!

Dave, I wish you a speedy recovery from both the initial bike injuries as well as any subsequent injuries that may arise from biking when you may have been cautioned against do so.

Re: Monday Oct 12 Ride

Lister and I have a difference of opinion. Not only can you "need" a new bike, in some cases you "must" have a new bike. In fact just posting this makes me realize that I have not bought a new bike in several days, ergo I need a new bike!

Re: Possible kid's cyclocross event 5:30 Wed Oct 14 location TBA

Lister, I will have Brian (12) and Patrick (15) coming out to play. I am still working on Erin (10). Please let me know if this is going to go ahead - I think I would be killed if I took them to a bike race that failed to materialize and they had to just watch me fall falt on my face - well, now tha...

Re: What to do when someone is dropped or stops for a flat

I agree. As a rider who has been dropped frequently I really appreciate the group allowing me to get back on before they ramp it back up and we repeat the cycle of death. I think that Lister's comment is spot on in terms of waiting - It sounds like this morning (while I was training my heartrate to ...

Re: Possible kid's cyclocross event 5:30 Wed Oct 14 location TBA

Lister,

I was at a meeting last night and so could not drag my kids out. We are planning to come next Wednesday and give it a whirl - I expect Patrick (15) and Brian (12) will give it a go and we will see what Erin (10) wants to do.

Thanks,

Re: PsychoCross - 30 Sept 09

Actually, he is twice as big - wait for it - there it is - twin humour. (Sometimes humour hurts!)

Also, shouldn't Peter ride with his back wheel in contact with the ground? - maybe that would help him improve his finishing position? (The Bike looks like a good fit though!)

Re: Thank You!

Jen, Welcome to the group - we must talk about goal setting - when you say things like "I want to be an A" it just encourages them. My personal goal - well it is really more of a grass roots movement is to make everyone into a C :o We can all work together on this! Michael aka the Slow Twin

Re: Ride stats for Friday Sept 18th

Hey, I managed to stay away from King George also! In fact, I managed to stay away the whole ride! Unfortunately my HR data is a little less exciting - pretty much a solid line at 40-44 bpm unlike the max of 193 that I saw on your data that caused me to cringe and feel ill! Can we start a C group? P...

Bike for teen

All

My son is looking for a new bike. He wants to commute on the lochside trail to school. I think he needs a 50cm bike if anyone has something suitable. Given how fast he is growing he may end up with more bikes than me!

Thanks

Back to school pub night

All

We were chatting after Saturday's November ride about a pub night tonight at the Beagle pub in Cook St Village. The plan is for 8:00(ish) - some of us have kids to abandon!

Roland,

Make sure that you do not ride beside Peter for the next few weeks - accidents can happen you know. Actually, you better make sure that Peter is in front of you at all times - you know, just like fire - you never turn your back on fire!

Lister, Thanks very much for organizing this and thanks to both you and the Fast Lawless for playing Mr. Miyagi today. I am puzzled by your interpretation of what 'Steady' means. I like your definition, but my experience is that when I manage to get enough air into my lungs and gasp (cry / shriek) o...

Colin,

I am not sure about this tool's usefulness for me. Even assuming that there is anyone behind me (which is not at all certain), having the ability to see behind just lets me know a few seconds earlier that I am about to be dropped
