Re: Saturday sufferfest?

I plan on riding tomorrow - though I am expecting to get shelled by Sidney at which point I may nip across the highway and jump on the train as it races past me on Interurban just prior to the sprint.

Okay, so this is where I post about the TTT. I will happily marshall if required to ensure the race goes.

Re: Call For Volunteers

Peter,

Sign me up to help for the Metchosin race. Cyndi and the kids may come as well so they might help.

For the TTT I can help out but wish to race as well. Cyndi is away but Patrick et al could help?

Sooke Triathlon

I have been remiss in not posting a brief report from the Sooke triathlon that a few TS members did last weekend. so: Report: Wet, Hilly, more hills. (end of report) Results: Dolly was the Silver Medallist and took a whole host of others to the cleaners - the laser beam focus was impressive - it act...

Re: What's for breakfast?

Wait a second - we are supposed to eat before the rides? Doesn't all that food just weigh you down so you are slower on the hills? I am slow enough on the hills already, thank you very much! I tend to try and eat supper the night before a ride and then ride without food to let my body know who is in...

Re: A new TS era

Lister, Believe me I am as shocked as you about this unfortunate turn of events  I believe that I am experiencing the residual benefits of the high intensity week of racing in Italy  (it must be a twin thing). Don't worry, things will be back to normal with me shooting of the back on a...

Re: Giro di Sardegna - Photos

Well, check out the Euro trash on Stage 1 (part 1 at 4'32") and again on Stage 2 (part 2 at 33"). Though, I must say that the scenery looks excellent - but is it just me or that part of the world all tilted - it seems like the front wheels are always much higher than the back wheels - very...

Re: Tour De Sardegna

The Tripleshot Invasion is scheduled to arrive at 6:00 pm local today. Peter and Dave are arriving at 11:00am and then lurking around town before picking up Alan at 6:00. Then, a lovely little 3 hour car trip takes them to the hotel at race start. I let Peter know about the volcano just as he was bo...

Re: March 31 - Most Exciting Hills Ride Yet!

Whew, I thought it was my heart that blew - good to know it was just a power line. I am not sure if that is a sign - the first hill ride I do in ages and I barely survive a heart attack (albeit one with a pretty light show). I wish I had a garmin so I could show the heartrate spike of 317bpm (that i...

Re: Holiday weekend rides

I am in for a long ride on Friday - perhaps starting at 7:00 back by 10:00 (or 11:00 after multiple Tea/Coffee refills) - maybe do the peninsula (either Wain or Land's End and back (Long Sunday Ride)? I am also in for a long ride Monday also starting at 7:00 - could we try Josh's Malahat adventure p...

Re: Hammerfests & No Drop Rides

As one of the less than strong cyclists (i.e. hammerhead describes my mental but not physical capacity) I enjoyed this morning very much. I like the proposal from the Human Torch (as he will be known after tomorrow) and think that for those of us that get dropped on Ash we should be able to organize...

We appear to be in 'good' company as early morning cyclists who suffer from sporadic attacks of gravity: DENVER - Gov. Bill Ritter is at Denver Health Medical Center being treated for broken ribs he received in a bicycle crash Tuesday morning in Denver, according to his staff. A statement from his o...

Re: Tripleshot in the TC

Hey, what is wrong with seeing double? This is an inclusive club so we cannot abide any of that anti-twin talk! For greater clarity, seeing that I won the race up to the top of Tolmie for the Photo Op, I think I will retire from all further cycling that involves any type of ascent - that way others ...

Re: Saturday AM Race Training Ride?

I am still planning on coming down for the ride - perhaps it will be slightly more civilized without Josh "my HR easily reaches 205 - doesn't yours?" to treat us like rented mules... maybe we could even try to find Alan's pancreas - I am no doctor but surely a pancreas can survive outside ...

Sure, that sounds great for those of you who can make it to the top of Mt. Tolmie! (Yes, I have heard about the secret training and must say that I am very disappointed) Besides, I have a hard enough time getting up from my pillow let alone something that is a Mt.

Cyndi and I will be there - resplendent in invisible argyle - okay so Cyndi will be resplendent and I will basically be invisible - but it's the team effort that counts!

Gavin, What are you thinking! Sure, we are a friendly and welcoming cycling club but get serious - how much stronger do you really want Josh to get? You could post links to crying baby sites, but no, you have to go and encourage him! I think I know what happened to your chain - it was a prospective ...

Re: Ride stats for Saturday Feb 6th

Well I had a good ride, though mostly off on my own toodling around Central Saanich. As we turned onto the Highway, I was at the back with Peter and Lister. Then Lister said he was done and Peter shamed me into stopping to pick-Lister Up (which was good because I was going to be dropped anyways) but...

Re: Saturday AM Race Training Ride?

Okay, so who else is interested in this 'fun' time? In particular, those who may be interested in going hard until they crack (for me that is at Dallas Rd.) and then still going long but at a more 'normal' pace? (Perhaps even crossing over to West Saanich and regrouping with the nuts on the return t...
