Re: Santa got me something for the gravel bike
That could be good. Much added weight? Weighs about 255g so adds roughly 50-100g depending on the stem you have today. I've had it on 2 rides so far - lots of roots and rocks. I have it set up with the most firm elasomers in the set. It's very subtle -- doesn't feel at all like a shock and you can'...

Re: Gravel bike shopping-bot
About this time last year I had the same thoughts. After doing a bunch of research and looking around I decided to plan and build my own bike. I found the Riding Gravel forum http://ridinggravel.com/forum/?p=post%2Fchinese-carbon-gravel-build-carbonda-8254658 , and decided on building up a gravel bi...

Re: What would you do (bike theft)?
Yell out loudly "Hey, that's my bike"... and start running. If he doesn't drop it by the time you arrive, just keep running past him to the next bike down the road and start petting it.

Re: Any weekend 15/16th rides planned
Looks like we should avoid heavy rains tomorrow (Sun) so I'm going to head out for a ride. If anyone cares to join, figure I will meet up at the parking lot at the VITP around 9 (Laritz Park at the start of the Glendale trails by the baseball diamonds) and then do a CX loop from there.

Re: Any weekend 15/16th rides planned
That would be great. Wouldn't mind trying something similar to that route you did last weekend at Francis King, Thetis etc... as I've been poking around at those trails, but they are all new to me. https://www.strava.com/activities/1961163209

Any weekend 15/16th rides planned
Weather forecast is pretty wet this weekend, but Saturday actually looks like we could see some sun. Anyone planning a ride as it would be great to join up and meet some of you for the first time.

Re: Safety effects of permanent running lights for bicycles: A controlled experiment.
I've got a set of Magnic Microlights. Got them off Kickstarter about 3-4 years ago and have them mounted on my commuter. They are a frictionless dynamo light that generates electricity from an eddy current between the light and the rim of your wheel. No need to charge, the light comes on as soon as ...

Re: BSC - Ride Dirty with Hesjedal - Great Trail Up & Back
Long shot here, but if anyone happens to do the ride and finds a weird looking light, I lost it coming down the trail somewhere between the upper gate and Humpback. There would be a growler of homebrew for it's safe return. Looks like this... https://www.magniclight.com/images/com_hikashop/upload/_l...

Re: New to the site - CX Route Question
Thanks for the directions to the Hector Connector -- would never have found it otherwise. Nice job on the trail build. A bit tough riding from Hector up with the tight switchbacks so it was mostly a hike for me. Odd icy sections on the way over to Panhandle under the power lines -- froze the dirt li...

Re: New to the site - CX Route Question
Excellent, thanks for the feedback. Have to pick up my daughter at PISE this afternoon, so I am going to head out and ride part of the trail today and try to find the Hector Connector, Panhandle, Scaife, Bellamy etc. as I've never ridden these. Should be fun. Replotted my loop route based on the fee...

New to the site - CX Route Question
Hi all, Recently stumbled across the Tripleshot forum. I've seen y'all out riding the roads from time to time and hope to join some of you. I'm starting to explore some of the bike routes in our region and having a great time. I have a couple different bikes (CX, Road and MTB) and try to get out on ...
