Re: March 14 - Big Terra Nova Clockwise Loop

Re: coffee. If we’re at a lake we won’t need extra water, we just boil it. One stove should be fine but I can bring two if someone wants to pack it. I have a stainless French press and espresso maker for when I car camp. It doesn’t take long to boil water so both can be brought if so desired. Being ...

Dude. We’re going to be at a lake enjoying the view with fresh brewed coffee. No need to rush through the finer moments.

Re: Sunday Feb 23 (shorter)

Sounds good. I’m still injured but I’ll give it a shot and just bail early if it’s an issue.

I’m aching to try some more stuff in heartland. And after Barry Beck said bubble wrap was unridable on a gravel bike it made me want to try it. But that can be another ride.

Markus, let’s do it next year in June. Provided that is that I’m not riding the tour divide and you’re not doing it with me.

Re: Fairfield Starbucks

The challenge with the marina is that the gravel folks regularly head the other way so it would be a big detour to start at the marina...

Demitasse is pretty spot on.

Re: Fairfield Starbucks

I'd second demitasse. Great spot for lots of bikes and a great coffee shop.

Starbucks and fort and foul bay works logistically for meeting but is not as good for connecting with the waterfront.

Bicycling magazine becoming more progressive.

I had written off Bicycling magazine as just another crappy magazine writing articles for skinny white people with titles like “5 ways to bust fat while riding” or “the top 8 bikes under $20,000” and then they wrote this piece on a First Nations woman who has been entering ultra endurance races and ...

Re: My Washington conditions?

I was there on the weekend and it was awesome. It rained hard Friday but Saturday was sunny and icy but good in the groomers. Sunday it snowed and was a great day. You could check the snow cam or their site for more current info.

bikepacking article on a gravel ride here.

Bikepacking.com has this cool article about a figure 8 loop overnighter. It's cool to see broader exposure for the amazing gravel riding we have here in Victoria
