Re: Fender ideas

Put me down for a set of crapflaps too please. My current crapflap consists of 3 long wobbly pieces of duct tape (it's the thought that counts right?), constructed during my lunch break on June 1 when I realized my duct tape & egg carton flap had vanished. What's the deal with needing fen...

XFusion BC Cup - Cross Country Race - May 23 2010

http://photos.rabien.com/photos/876915450_ADjqT-M.jpg I won a race! I almost didn't enter the race, but thought "whatever - I'll just enter and see how it goes". I entered Citizen Beginner but at the last moment switched to the Citizen Intermediate category, and ended up winning the Citiz...

Re: Sooke Road Race Prep

Sounds like you guys need a lesson in mass bike transport. The most anyone can carry is 4 bikes??

Image

We got 21 bikes & 21 people in 4 vehicles (and yes everyone had a seatbelt!)

Re: Tripleshot 2010 Gear Order #1

Katie, you said you weren't very happy with the women's gear. Could you please let me (and others) know, what was wrong with the women's stuff so that I can make up my mind about what to order? The women's jersey's are *really* short, and barely come to the top of the shorts. If you order a larger ...

Re: Cumberland XC

I was really on the fence about whether I wanted to race on Sunday. My XC(ish) bike is still getting fixed so I was to ride the Slayer again, and with all the talk of the brutal steep & long fire road climbs, I was rather reluctant to enter. I decided I would ride the course, but not worry about...

Re: Port Alberni - March 21

Well it turns out that while it's possibly the funnest bike around, the Slayer is not the best choice for a cross country race... A tad heavy, a tad bouncy, and a tad relaxed. After sliding through mud on tires that felt more like skates in dire need of sharpening, and winding up a rooty hill, my ch...

Re: Mountain bike race report

This was my second mountain bike race ever, and like the first, this one began with a really big hill. As many of you might know, I'm not a fan of hills (unless I'm going down them), so my plan was basically to not get too excited about what the others were doing off the start, just put my head down...

Re: ride stats for friday Feb 19th

My stylish new Garmin Edge 500 arrived last night, so I can now proudly display my stats too. I have, however, grown tired of viewing the same old speed vs. heart rate graphs that are so popular in this forum. Instead, I am providing an informative graph displaying temperature and elevation. http://...

What??

You bailed on mountain biking with me and Glenowyn because you said you wanted to sit on the beach! You did secret hills instead?

I think this, but in all white, is what Gavin is actually searching for. Apparently you can even order it in a "shiny nylon" fabric. http://www.jlvelo.com/user_images/909b16e8c5800dddde85e0ac4ff57385.jpeg http://www.jlvelo.com/tab.6_page.ankle_to_wrist.html They also offer it in animal pri...

Re: Saturday AM Race Training Ride?

In other news, there's another TSer who deserves a hard time for missing the ride. Roland, who decided he'd rather spend saturday dislocating his pinky mountain biking (silly sport ), is now trying his second consecutive year of the "late winter injury" training program. It's all pa...

Re: Sidney TT route - McTavish

When I went passed yesterdY afternoon On the way to the ferry, they had concrete barriers across both ends of mctavish on the TT course side - both turning off the highway and turning onto the othr road. Looked like you could stil squeeze through, but it's more than just posts and tape now. If you g...

Re: Another technical problem

I do not understand what this thread is all about. Do you mean you bought a bike with replaceable parts ? I had no idea! SOunds like shoddy manufacturing to me (but then I am no mechanic). In the world of Product Quality, designing a product with replaceable parts is simply a way to "mitigate ...

Re: Cyclocross Season Wrap Up: Shawnigan Lake School

After spending hours in the rain the day before pouding posts (well, Jen did most of the pounding) and stringing tape, I was somewhat apprehensive about spending the entire Sunday out in the rain, racing and spectating in freezing weather. But as luck would have it, it *POURED* with rain all night, ...

Re: Cross in the mud - Slugget Farm

My race summary: Saturday: On the 1.5 laps I dropped my chain twice, crashed once and got a flat (who gets a flat on a course consisting entirely of mud???) I stood in the pits for a while hoping Roland would bring me his wheel, but eventually Jen rode past and offered me her spare tube & pump s...

Re: Monday Oct 12 Ride

Alec - I believe your error was that you did not first establish a need for 12 single purpose bikes before using the "last bike I will ever buy" statement.

I believe Roland is setting the ground work for using that statement 12 times (or 13 with JohnT's help).
