$550 o.b.o Hi, In anticipation of the cross season, I'm selling this frame with stem and handlebars. Specialized CruxCarbon Frame. 56cm. . Specialized stem and bars. No wheels, no drivetrain. It was raced in a handful of races on the island and is now up for grabs. Some minor scratches and a nick on...

Re: Advice on used carbon bike purchase (first timer)
Chances are that you'll wear out the components before wearing out the frame. In the case of a severe crash, Roberts Composites from Vancouver will repair most bikes for $300. My bike has been fixed by them with no perceptible change in weight or performance.

Tarmac SL4 49cm
Hi everyone, It's nearing the end of season and I'm looking to sell my Tarmac. Ideally it's suited for a rider five foot six or less. It's SRAM red equipped and has only been used since mid-April. Overall it's stiffer and more responsive than my Look 585 and weighs 15lbs with pedals. What I can say ...

Re: WindsorPark
If your team has members in the break, there is no obligation to pull for the pack. It was in the interest of pro-city to have a rider in the break. Tom's riding very well and Steve Bachop is quite difficult to ride away from. Not to mention that he seems punchier than last year.

Re: Dura Ace c24 Wheelset
Like I said, what you feel like spending depends on your income bracket. I have a friend who rides edge 60mm deep wheels for training rides as he doesn't race. I can't remember what he uses is high wind scenarios but he keeps the rear. The DA 24 in my opinion is a good choice and if you're looking f...

Re: Dura Ace c24 Wheelset
This is an old article but the data is relevant. http://www.rouesartisanales.com/article-15505311.html What can gathered is that spoke count makes a difference and that there is not too much difference within classes of wheels. Ie 50mm wheels tend to perform as well as other 50mm wheels with the sam...

Re: Dura Ace c24 Wheelset
C24 happens to have exceptional aerodynamics and pretty good stiffness. The cost of rims and spoke replacement really depends on what income bracket you sit in. If you're looking for training wheels, then I'd consider something where rim replacement is cheap. (Non-proprietary rime/spokes) I haven't ...

Re: Nanaimo TTT 21 Aug - Call for Teams and Volunteers
Hi, I'm interested in filling out a team or if needed, man a traffic station. If anyone has room in their vehicle for a small cyclist and bike it would be appreciated. I'm more interested in the process rather than a time so it would be ideal to have a no-drop tt team. To keep it reasonable a groupi...

Re: Bike box help
You might want to try this. http://victoria.en.craigslist.ca/rid/ Potentially the same price but without the hassle of boxing your bike. I caught a ride with a friend to Port Alberni, stayed overnight at his place and rode home the following day.

Re: Good wheels FS on UsedVic
I haven't heard stellar reviews about the Bontrager wheels from the riders on Glotman Simpson who used them. They're pretty heavy from what I've heard and IMO the seller is asking a bit much for them.

Re: Advice on disc covers
My best advice is to do the Sydney tt as much as possible. I remember when I did my first provincial tt I popped a few times due to pacing and discomfort from the position. (I sat up and softpedaled for a while) Without a doubt it cost me any advantage my wheels gave. Disk covers are a viable option...

If you are paying $300 then it's likely a wired one and is not so amenable for use between multiple bikes.

Adam could get his Map test for free if he agreed to participate in a study running out of UBC. I'm not sure if anything is happening at the moment but I've had it done 4 times with different researchers. Send me a pm if interested and I'll fire off a few emails to ask.

Re: VCL Newton Hgts April 27
I was the unknown in the A race. The group was whittled down to about 6 midway through the race. Tom Skinner (was pretty activethrought the race ) and John counter-attacked at the crest of the hill and managed to stay away. I tried to chase but was at the back of the group when they accelerated and ...
