route reminders and rider rotation
First, a HUGE thanks to the exec for getting us back on the road/trail together. It's very exciting! I wasn't sure where to post this, and maybe it has been noted elsewhere already, but I thought it would be good to remind everyone of the route adjustments made in Nov to accommodate the new stop sig...

I have an old-style magnetic-resistance trainer that you're welcome to borrow. PM me if that'd suit.

If you aren’t working or things are just tight and you run out of food, please don’t go to sleep with an empty stomach. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to send me a private message, text, call. I will be more than happy to share what food I have. We will never speak about it again. I will drop and go...

Hell of the North
Paris-Roubaix 2020 was planned for next Sunday. For those with a bit of time on their hands and a wistful tear in their eye, here is a link to a fabulous documentary of the 1976 race. It has, hands down, the best soundtrack of any sports film I've seen. (Yeah, even better than Rocky 1.) And some del...

I miss you all!
Riding solo has already worn thin, and I sure ain't looking forward to time on the trainer.
Still, I'm convinced distancing is the right thing to do, while we figure out a longer term solution.
Please stay in touch with friends and family, especially those who may be sheltering alone.

Should I still be training?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5y-2PtSxbCQ Here's an interesting youtube vid that gets into questions of immunosuppression and exercise and then discusses approaches to periodization during the pandemic. Please share what your training/exercise approach is during the social distancing. Myself, I ce...

FYI, the mag is part of the digital subscriptions at the Vic public library.
I was also pleased to see the article. It's a small island in a sea of conformity, but it's a start.

Given the snow that's out there now and the forecast, is this an MTB-only day? (In which case I'll do something else since I don't have one.)

Re: 15-minute summary video on training
All excellent points, Lister. Experience on a Cx bike has come in handy in some dodgy situations on the road, for sure. The recipe for success (to be defined by oneself) has many ingredients and can't be captured in a simple summary video. That said, I like this guy's approach generally because it i...

Ron, I plan on showing up with knobs. It is supposed to be a dark and stormy morning, so maybe we can shoulder our bikes and run on the beach while marveling at the surf. Hmm, maybe this is why I am a follower.

15-minute summary video on training
This is a great 15-minute summary video on training. It distills a lot of complex stuff into bites that even I can understand. I especially like that the information presented is data-driven. It even has a bit on cyclocross!
