Re: May 2 - Ride for Water - Chilliwack

Another one for the calendar, May 31 - The Forbidden Gravel Experience. I understand this new event is being organized by a group who have done other events in the Comox Valley. Said to include gravel and singletrack. It fits my calendar well so will likely plan to attend.

Last year you could register your kids for the event and Hayley ran some bike related activities to keep them occupied for the day. They even got pizza! Mostly a crowd of younger kids.

How ‘bout this?

The only caveat being that it may all go to sh*t depending on the pooch.

Alan I'm so pleased that you are deriving vicarious joy from my dog. If only it was a two-way relationship. If you're free drop by at 3:00 am for a private audience as we will be in the yard spreading poo. Newcomers we try to be the most inclusive club you've ever met, so feel free to join. I will s...

The Other Sunday Cross Ride

We haven't got the time for Claire's Excellent Adventure tomorrow but would like to get out for a good spin. Mandy and I are planning to head out from Fairbucks at 7:30 to hit Royal Roads and the Langford/Glen Lake loop. Keeping it brisk with no exploration of new terrain in order to limit puppy dam...

Friday Cross

Last race of the COTR season on Saturday, so I'm planning to head out for an urban spin tomorrow morning and keep the pace reasonable. I thought I would keep it local, touring Oak Bay, maybe Cattle Point, Anderson Hill and the alleys over to Beacon Hill. A few laps around there and then coffee at Sh...

Hey Louise - I was thinking we would go up beside Cedar Hill GC and over to Bow Park. What about the overpass into Bow Park? 6:20ish?

Tuesday Cross

With 18 people in the lot last Friday I keep waiting for someone else to post a cross ride, but I can wait no longer! Tomorrow, six bells, OBH. Ten Mile maybe? Bueler?

Wednesday Cross

Hey there - I am planning to ride my cross bike out to Prospect Lake Road on Wednesday morning to join the awareness ride they are holding at 7:30 am. I thought I would post here to see if anyone else can make the time to support this initiative. I also thought it would be fun to have a chance to ge...

Friday Cross

We should ride tomorrow, I think. Especially after you eat all of that candy you're stealing from your kids. OBH at 06:00, thinking maybe Camosun-UVic-Haro-Gordon Point-MtDoug-BowPark-Summit-Topaz and spin down to Shoal Point. Anyone?

Friday Cross

Two options:

North West: Cedar Hill - Lochside - Royal Oak - Colquitz, coffee at Shoal Point

North East: Oak Bay - UVic - Ten Mile - Haro - UVic, coffee at Pure Vanilla

Pick one by show of hands in the parking lot, or maybe do both pending turnout?

Aiming for 75-90 minutes either way. Who's in?

Re: Bike Policy for CRD Parks

Over 100 letters received in favour of the policy, 35 speakers scheduled for the meeting today and almost 100 people in attendance to show their support for the motion. It was very inspiring to see so many take time out of their day to bolster the work SIMBS and others have done. Thanks to everyone ...
