Re: Sunday, Nov. 17 - Early Explore to Mitchell Lake and Hazlitt Creek

Garth: re JT’s comment, I think your G(arth)PS system has taken you to this stretch of Hazlitt Creek before; but weren’t you on foot? Hey Rolf, I’ve run and ridden the Hazlett Cr trails. The route you’ve plotted out through that area is 90% doable on a cx bike (there are a few sections that’ll be a...

Re: A question for the doctors: how many Tylenol can I take?

Hi Rob, Back when I ran, I knew of one guy that almost died from acute renal failure and heard of others that had the same experience. They were taking NSAIDS (not sure the doses) to get them through their ultra marathon running events. Bosie describes below really well what happens if you take too ...

Re: Great Trail Ride Survey

Steve, Sorry to hear of your crash and nasty collarbone break! Hopefully once you’ve had surgery, you’ll be in less pain. Too bad the ‘chicken bone’ is such an integral bone in the function of the shoulder. You mentioned in your first post that we need to start a support group for all that are injur...

December 30 The Great Trail CX ride

Planning a cx ride on The Great Trail on Sunday December 30 with a stop at the Kinsol Trestle and Drumroaster Coffee or Prima Strada Pizza in Cobble Hill before we make our way back through Shawnigan Lake, up Goldstream Heights and taking the Great Trail back to Victoria. It'll be a long one (145 km...

Re: Sunday, Dec 23 Ride

I took a stab at a route for tomorrow.
We can change it if people want to do something different.

We'll be riding past the Switch Bridge around 7:50 if you want to meet the group there instead.

Re: Sunday, November 18

Hey Rolf,

Sorry I had extra spicy re-fried beans tonight...hope that's ok!

Here's the route I was thinking of doing...if Rob Britton can do it, it shouldn't be a problem for us!

Re: Sunday, August 5 - Alpha SB, ECXtented CX Adventure #2

Steven,
There are some steep pitches (15-20% grades) and possibly some walking over a few technical areas.
Not sure I would want to do the ride with road shoes and 34x25 gearing, but you might be more hardcore than me :D

Sunday, August 5 - Alpha SB, ECXtented CX Adventure #2

After checking out Hazlitt Creek area for cx riding, I've come up with a couple of routes to ride on Sunday to incorporate this area. Here's a link to my strava activity of the Hazlitt Cr area: https://www.strava.com/activities/1738734669 I was thinking we could start the ride at 7am from Alpha SB (...
