Re: Damian BC Epic

inbound8635038958005782883.jpg I thought I’d provide an update on Damian, as a few friends have asked what happened to his moving dot in the BC Epic 1000 - an absurdly long bikepacking/ultra-endurance event (actually 1040km) that started last Saturday. Damian was doing AWESOME, staying in the top t...

Holy f***. That is horrible. I rode with Andrew-with-the-long-name a few times. Very cool guy. Very terrible crash and situation for his family :(

Is there still a July 1 Hurricane Ridge ride?

This is technically not 'ride planning' and I know the July 1 ride was never a Tripleshot event, but just curious if that's still a day when a whack of cyclists head over to enjoy the closed-to-traffic road up to Hurricane.

Just pondering my weekend options...

Re: Damian BC Epic

Trackleaders is very exciting today! Damian had been sitting in 3rd pretty much from the beginning, but the three of them all gathered at the Balfour ferry last night, awaiting this morning's 6:30am sailing. Now Cory Ostertag and Damian are riding together (whether by choice or happenstance, who kno...

Hey, Pat, just in case you're still selling this and people aren't sure if these are men's or ladies' items, I would just like to acknowledge that you are the "Patrick" version of Pat and so they are men's.

Re: Just-for-fun, non-competitive winter gravel/cross challenge!

Tripleshot Winter CX Challenge wrap-up (reposted from Spond, for posterity's sake) During four weeks from early February to early March, 21 Tripleshotters took to the dirt, logging a cumulative 50 rides and 4098 qualifying kilometres for the 2022 cx/gravel challenge. This just-for-fun event echoes ...

Re: Should the Tripleshot forum be taken private?

Rolf, not to be a pain, but if the club exec has indeed discussed this at some length, I'd like to know how those wise and thoughtful people came to the leaning that taking the forum private may be in our collective best interests. I'm leaning toward status quo myself, but am definitely open to hear...

Meatball recipes are always welcome, Mikael's friend! I believe the best spot to share directions for tasty consumables is the "General Banter" subforum.

I look forward to trying out your friend's recipe!

Re: Just-for-fun, non-competitive winter gravel/cross challenge!

Oh, my... Yes, Mikael is correct that there are not 28 days between Feb 13 and March 6. But there ARE four weekends, and that was the point!! Anyway, rides completed in the week/few days preceding Feb 13 AND the few days following March 6 will also be accepted! And, yes (spoiler alert!), homemade (b...

Just-for-fun, non-competitive winter gravel/cross challenge!

Details of this frivolous event can be found on Spond or in the Gravel subforum.

Just thought I'd spam this all over so as not to miss anyone :)

Just-for-fun, non-competitive winter gravel/cross challenge!

Inspired by a couple of organized rides garnering interest this month, we’ve decided to re-fashion last year’s February gravel challenge into a similar low-key event for 2022. This is open to anyone with a gravel or cross bike (or a road bike that appreciates mud and general abuse) and a healthy sen...

The G-LOOP (way-in-advance notice)

Posting this on behalf of Markus P. who's having login issues. Also posted on Spond. There is a gravel loop planned for June 5th that will get us deep into the backcountry between Sooke and Shawnigan Lake. Lots of climbing (3300m) over a 153-ish km route that will feature smooth to very rough gravel...

Also, as the month wraps up, please self-report here your (and your buddies') tallies of completions of the routes. Either add to your previous post (thanks, James and JT) or give me a grand total of all route completions for the month. The hypothetical promise of beer and cookies is no longer hypot...

Re: Weekly cx/gravel routes (solo/bubble) for month of April

Also, to make good on my earlier promise to provide a longer, more technical option for the last two weeks, I've cobbled together this: Week four longer route Full disclosure: I haven't ridden this all as one route and I'm not at all familiar with the Hazlitt Creek area. But, I've based most of it o...

Re: Weekly cx/gravel routes (solo/bubble) for month of April

Welcome to the fourth and final instalment of April's weekly pre-fab gravel routes. If anyone's inspired to take over for May or beyond... don't be shy. I know there are folks following and enjoying having a route to follow during this last (?) wave of antisocial riding. This one starts/stops at Har...

Re: Weekly cx/gravel routes (solo/bubble) for month of April

There was one little undeveloped lot I crossed behind a dirt pile off the end of a paved road. Other than that, I was on paved cart paths and only had to dodge one cart-load of drunken (but friendly) golfers!
