Re: It's official, sports fans: Spinnakers Fri Sept 30th

Thanks to everyone for coming out to say goodbye. Great times & great stories. For those of you that bought me beer, well, you're in my will (if I ever get rich enough)!

It has been a great ride,
See you all again!

Re: It's official, sports fans

I think 5:30 sounds like it could work if everyone is amenable to that option.

It's official, sports fans: Spinnakers Fri Sept 30th

Hi everyone, In the true spirit of my life theme keeping all things to the last minute, I just received the (un)expected call from for the Burnaby job I applied to and I will be dropping everything and heading over for October. When the deadline for their decision had passed by a large margin, I was...

Re: Goodbye Beer for Ryan, don't cry

I want to apologize, foremost to Glen for getting the rug pulled out from under her in setting this up, only to have me request its cancellation. I am in the unenviable position having my job prospect evaporate at the last minute when, up to now, all seemed a green light. So, without getting into de...

Racing philosophy

I may be moving on at the end of the month, so I thought it timely to share my thoughts on my years with TS. I have learned a lot about myself during my time with TS. I am grateful for the intensity of these early morning rides and for the opportunities these rides afforded me to try out strategies ...

Re: Western Speedway?

I won't be able to come out to volunteer tonight. I hope at least three TSers are able to come out to run this fun and popular course.

And, yes, Andrea, you will have a blast. Give it a run! :D

I didn't get a chance to post earlier but I want to tell you guys how proud I feel to have watched you turn your potential into fantastic results! I won't single anyone out but suffice it to say many of you dug deep enough and pushed through the 'wall', finding that extra little reserve and exceedin...

Re: Free: cycling clothing - Gone!

Glad to hear it, John! No, sadly I am not out of the mix yet. The gear may be gone but I am still here at least until October. I will still be doling out generous helpings of pain as long as I am able.

Re: Free: cycling clothing

I will bring a bin with everything and park my car near the Moka House Friday morning so you can pick through things after the ride. Those that responded first have first dibs.

Free: cycling clothing - Gone!

There's a range of jerseys, shorts, winter gear and winter booties. There are two pairs of XL TS baby blue shorts and a matching long sleeve TS jersey, size L. All clean and in good condition. Take it all, please, and save me a trip to Value Village.

Worth a look? http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/Devinci-Leo-TT1-carbon-fibre-triathlontime-trial-bike-50-off_14597315 There was a Serfas hard case box on UsedVic yesterday but, not surprisingly, it sold right away. http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/Bike-box-Serfas-SBC-Armor-_15503609 R

Re: New Personal Record...

Ouch  I think one of the reasons I don't use an HRM in races (other than the fact that I no longer own one) is that the numbers scare me too much. I also noticed I could push my HR waaay higher in competition than in training. Adrenaline? Hey, Sylvan. If the racing thing ever gets boring for ...

Re: Nanaimo TTT 21 Aug - Call for Teams and Volunteers

I still need to confirm that the juniors have rides to the event but otherwise, Steven, I can give you a lift up and maybe team up with you, Peter, and Gavin (if he's in). In a pinch I can take two more people but it would be *cozy*.

Re: Cowichan Valley MS Tour

The pleasure was all mine, Andrea. Both you and Dan were great company. Thanks to Dan for keeping us on the correct route. I guess my orienteering skills are a bit rusty. The route was very nice and ran mostly away from the major traffic areas. Highlights of the day for me included the entire stretc...
