road conditons around shirley

Hi, thinking of doing the big loop tomorrow (counter clockwise), so I am a bit concerned about the road conditions around Shirley... anyone know what is up with the construction?

Admittedly only tangentially related to cycling, but I thought with 300 odd members there must be a sailor out there?

Seriously fast bike. Carbon frame, HED stinger disk rear wheel, dura ace-ultegra mix. Drivetrain has less than 200km on it: cranks, chainrings, chain, cassette all new. Shitty front wheel included (I just swap out a good wheel off of my road bike when needed.) But wait, there is more: I will also in...

Wanted: mountain bike for 10 year old girl

My 10 year old daughter is afraid of riding on the roads (close call with a motorist) so I thought I might try mountain biking with her... Kind of a catch 22: She would be more likely to enjoy it on a decent bike, but I am not keen on dropping a $1000 on a new bike if it doesn't take. Anyone have a ...

Re: Big Loop Ride July 15th ... details please

Hey Neil, I gather that you are the organizer for the big loop ride? Would it be ok if there was a group that took care of their own food and drink (cafe stops at shirley, port renfrew and lake cowichan) but took advantage of the broom wagon in case something goes afoul? For the faster riders there ...

Wet shoes?

If your significant other does not appreciate you drying your cycling shoes on the heater vents in the living room, bathroom, hallway, bedroom etc. I have a life hack that might be for you. You can hang your shoes from vents in the basement... kind of like mistletoe!

want to borrow helmet mounted light

I have a mountain bike race coming up that will be (partially) in the dark. I do not want to have to purchase a light system just for the race... Anyone have a light kicking around I could borrow for the weekend of sept 16-17th? Cheers,
