John D and I latched on to the farm team for a cruise around the waterfront. The coffee was excellent :)

How cool is it to have 3 of the top 5 and MORE IMPORTANTLY have them there as a result of planning and not just "as it turned out". +1 Also note that TS currently claims 4 out of the top 5 spots in the B's overall. John Taylor is first, with Brian, Brent and Bruno in 2nd, 4th and 5th resp...

Re: Caleb Pike – March 18

Big B group yesterday. Pace felt a little faster than last week but that is to be expected given the much improved conditions (it didn't start snowing until after the race  ). I felt like I spent the entire trying to move up in the pack. Seemed like every time I got near the front, I would lo...

Re: Done to death...?

Currently using Michelin Pro 3 Race. CRC had them for a good price ($30) so decided to give them a try. Happy with them so far, but only had them out for 3 or 4 rides, so can't comment on durability.

A few additions to John's details - Yes, there is a one time $2 fee for a number. You use the same number all year. - I believe you need a Cycling BC license (or proof thereof) to race. Details here: http://victoriacyclingleague.wordpress.com/insurance/ - Map/Location of the course: http://maps.goog...

Re: Caleb Pike March 11th 2012

An interesting day to say the least, with all manner of weather to contend with. My primary goal was to stay with the main pack for as long as possible and try to help out where I can. Unfortunately, I was feeling a bit cooked on the last few laps, so hanging on became the primary goal. We definitel...

Re: VCL Calendar - 2012

Newtons are really just death marches aren't they? Definitely. The pack usually starts to disintegrate on the first climb. If you're a good climber, you'll do well. If not, you suffer in solitude. But Caleb and Lattoria do often end in a sprint True, but the finishes on these courses are both uphil...

Re: VCL Calendar - 2012

I also plan to be a regular at the VCL B races. A coffee/pub meeting to discuss team strategy/goals is a great idea. Would be nice to have a plan in advance rather than trying to sort it out 10 minutes before the race. I'm also planning to get to as many BC Masters races on the island as I can. Sche...

I've always thought that the free-for-all starts at King George. The only time I remember delaying until the end of Hollywood was due to adverse weather conditions or construction.
