Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up getting outvoted in favour of a gift certificate.
But it was fun looking for various ideas. Cheers.

Gift Ideas?
Hi all, I'm looking for ideas for a cycling related retirement gift for someone who does not cycle.. I have a colleague who is retiring shortly. She's an extremely avid cycling fan, often travelling across the country (Montreal usually) to volunteer or watch the pro events each year. First one on si...

Re: Hip Bursitis - Trochanteric
Thanks for the tips. Do you know if you have to get a referral to see a sports med doctor? I suppose I can call the clinic in the morning and answer that myself! I've been doing IMS with the shockwave and laser weekly treatments. Combined I get relief for a couple/three days and then the pain comes ...

Hip Bursitis - Trochanteric
Has anyone ever been diagnosed with trochanteric bursitis? If so, how long was your recovery? Any tips? My GP says no activity for 6 to 12 months. I'm at almost 4 months now and still in a fair amount of pain, despite numerous physio, shockwave and laser treatments.

Re: Favourite chamois/bib brand/model
Hey waverider. It would help to know... are you a boy or a girl? That might influence the replies you get. Y'know, since our chamois needs are somewhat gender dependent  If girl, I'm quite liking the Jakroo chamois in some of the custom kits out there. Castelli is pretty nice too. Good luck! ...

Favourite chamois/bib brand/model
Looking for recommendations. I've had great success with Giordana with overall fit, finish and longevity, but can't find that brand anymore in Victoria (Performance is no longer carrying them). Anyone have a tried and true favourite they love?

Bike depreciation - is there such a thing?
Frustrated with how high used bike prices are I decided to look at a few websites and search for my existing bike to gauge the used bike market. I paid $1,900 for a 2013 Cervelo R3. The cheapest I could find, for a USED 2013 R3 was $2,100. Used! The most expensive was $2,800. Admittedly, I g...

Re: The ideal cycling backpack?
For commuting I switched to sling packs (http://www.mec.ca/product/5032-790/mec-left-hand-pod-sling-pack-unisex/?f=10+50607) and found them to be much more comfortable so long as you don't need to take a lot. I keep my shoes and pants at work and easily fit in a work shirt, socks, lunch, a few bike ...

Hi Craig,
Sorry, was out of town for a few days. Unfortunately (fortunately?) I ended up buying a set of rollers a few days later. Got too anxious about sitting around I guess. Thanks though, much appreciated!

Re: For my wife - bike to borrow or rent?
Oh sorry, Geoff here. I rode a lot with the Sunday group last summer and fall, but haven't been out this year due to scheduling conflict and injury. I was the guy who rode for a bit on the hybrid before switching to a road bike. And have been to your house Barton to pick up a purchased mud flap! Che...

For my wife - bike to borrow or rent?
My wife is interested in road riding, having never done it before. But before investing in a bike and all the gear, she'd like to try it out over a period of a few weeks first. Any suggestions? Can you rent from the local bike shops for that long? Is there anyone who has a second (or third or fourth...

Re: Sunday Nov 16, Early
Bit of a newbie here...what are the road conditions like in the early morning and with these current cold conditions? Is there much frost / black ice to be concerned with? I can't make it tomorrow, but was planning on riding early on Monday.

Update - found a silver set at North Park. Last they had of either colour. Fortunately I have a silver bike so I'll even be styling too! Thanks everyone.
