Volunteer List

Good morning.

Is there a posted volunteer list? What events everyone offered to volunteer at, when we renewed our membership.
Last year, I forgot what events I signed up for, and I was double booked both weekends.
To be honest, the same has occurred this year. I know, I need to get more organized.

Re: Wanted: Cross Bike/Hybrid Bike for Coworker

Disregard.
My coworker just sent me a text and told me he had tracked one down today. He is pleased with his purchase.
Sorry for any inconvenience.

Wanted: Cross Bike/Hybrid Bike for Coworker

My coworker is looking for a bike for commuting to work. Male. Frame Size - 56 or 58. Drop Handle Bars. Typical peninsula riding - part pavement, part crushed gravel, part dirt hardpack. His price range is "around $750". If he were a Tripleshotter that would mean "between $1000 and $3...

The Dutch Reach

http://cyclingmagazine.ca/sections/news/liberal-mp-believes-dutch-reach-save-cyclists-lives/ Great idea! Simple, effective, and saves lives. I'm going to start doing this. A few months ago I was parked on the street and in a hurry. Even though I'm a cyclist and more aware of bikes on the road than m...

Re: Movember starts this week.

Good morning everyone! What a start it’s been?! My campaign is off to a HUGE start! And I can’t take any of the credit - all I’m doing is growing something on my upper lip (I’m not sure if it’s a moustache yet, or not). The credit goes to all of the beautiful people out there who received my first e...

Movember starts this week.

Welcome to Movember everyone! I am once again participating in this campaign. As a cancer survivor, I truly believe that our health is our most valuable possession. We need to put in the effort to protect this possession. As fellow riders, I admire the fact that you make your health a priority. Why ...

Whistler Gran Fondo

6 days to go!!! I have signed up for the Whistler Gran Fondo again this year, and was wondering if any Tripleshotters are taking part. My master plan (subject to change dependant upon ability to find a good group to ride with, we are SO spoiled in TSC) is to finish up in the 4hr to 4hr15min range. M...

Re: Sat July 30

I would be into that Barton.

I'm thinking the distance is about 130ish. Does that sound right to you?

Timing for me is a bit tight tomorrow. I need to be back to the house around noon. I've got commitments in the afternoon. We will need to keep moving.

It should be fun. The weather looks gorgeous!

Re: Big Loop Short Cutters?

For what it's worth: I would like to roll out with the Big Loop Ride folks tomorrow morning. My plan is to do an out-and-back to Jordan River. I believe, round trip, it's about 140K. I may, very well, take some flack for this but 5+ hours is more than enough time in the saddle for me. Pace is more o...

Count me in!
It was so fun "Draining the tank" two weeks ago, an encore performance is a must.
I'll try not to break any spokes this time.
See you in the morning.

Whoa! That is crazy fast!
I thought it wasn't supposed to be here until July 15th.

I will be doing Hurricane Ridge Friday.
Is there a Plan B for pickup? Thank you.

Re: Goldstream Heights June 26

It's all good Andrew. I took the cut pavement pretty hard. It's quite challenging to bunny-hop when your legs are knackered and you weigh-in darn close to 200 lbs. By the time I realized the spoke had popped, you guys were out of ear distance. Tim, somehow realized something was amiss, doubled back,...

Re: Goldstream Heights June 26

Well, I behaved myself last night and I'm glad I did. Fantastic ride today. Beautiful weather, great group, and outstanding group management by the key players. I have to admit, I was nervous about joining this ride. There were some very strong riders in the group. The nerves were about all the norm...

Re: Goldstream Heights June 26

I was thinking about wandering around the Highlands for 4 or 5 hours tomorrow but this sounds like more fun. I did the Malahat and Shawnigan Lake (not Coldstream Heights) last year and riding the Malahat, early in the morning with little traffic, is a real treat! That being said, I am going to the J...

Is anyone planning on doing Hurricane Ridge on July 1st?
My wife will be in Ontario on business, and I am going to "seize the day" and put some elevation in the book.

I'm in Barton.
I'll probably die a slow, painful death but I'll see.
You never know unless you push the envelope, right?
The route looks interesting. There are roads that I have never been on. Fun.

5 Cyclists Killed in Kalamazoo, MI

http://abcnews.go.com/US/cyclists-killed-kalamazoo-crash-identified/story?id=39711848 There is a reason that pickup trucks make me nervous when they pass. Maybe it's the fact I lived in rural Ontario and have done a lot of riding on country roads with LOTS of pickup trucks. Motorists and cyclists ne...
