Re: Gravel ride "with friends" (but actually solo)

So, in answer to my question above, you can import a TCX file into a Garmin Edge 500, and it works reasonably well. I've always just used my Edge to record rides, but the route-finding feature made following Rolf's route pretty straightforward. You get a much flowier ride than if you have to stop ev...

Re: Gravel ride "with friends" (but actually solo)

I think tire width is more important than whether it's a road/gravel/CX bike. Due to my cross bike being in the shop I did the Stuckylife ride on my winter bike. It has 32mm slicks, which are perfectly fine on relatively dry trails. Of course, the fenders with crap flaps to within an inch of the gro...

Re: Peter

Jeez...that guy's a wreck! ;)

I've heard Peter tell a related story, which is that he got dropped on his first Spin Doctors ride and had nearly decided "this group riding thing's not for me." But then Lister came back and helped him back to the group.

And the rest is history.

Peter

Hey folks, I received some scary news today from Andrew A. Peter L. is in the hospital, having undergone emergency surgery to bypass a blood clot in his leg. He nearly lost the leg, and while he’s stable, cheerful, and hoping to head home soon, hanging onto the leg is still not a done deal. No one w...

Re: Zoom coffee Sunday morning 9am

I can't make the Zoom coffee tomorrow. There's a regular meeting already set up, but I don't know whether it can run without the host present. https://zoom.us/s/96313158675?pwd=NjA3TGxwc0lUWm9iVjNFWEpac2pZZz09 If you plan to come and/or are willing to host, post here or PM me. We had a nice hour-lon...

Re: Looking for Tripleshot Good Samaritan Rick

Hmm...we have a couple Richards, a Ritchie, and a couple Erics. No current Rick among this year's members. Could have been a former member or someone with hand-me-down kit. Maybe this will ring a bell with someone else. Do pass on our wishes to Keith for a speedy recovery! Martin EDIT: I have a coup...

Re: Gravel ride "with friends" (but actually solo)

Allow me to reveal my ignorance and ask, "How exactly would I go about using a GPX file?" Is this something that I can use on my iPhone, or do I need some newfangled bike computer?

Friday April 17 Zwift and/or coffee?

Let me know if you're interested, and I can set up a group ride. I may not make it as I need a little recovery from my ride yesterday.

Coffee 8:30am? The plan would be Discord, but we can do Zoom if people prefer.

If you aren’t working or things are just tight and you run out of food, please don’t go to sleep with an empty stomach. Don’t be afraid or embarrassed to send me a private message, text, call. I will be more than happy to share what food I have. We will never speak about it again. I will drop and go...

Re: Zwift ride and/or coffee?

OK.

I've sent invites on Zwift. 6:05am rollout for the ride.

Show up at (virtual) Moka House for coffee at 8:30am. You don't need to do the Zwift ride to do coffee!
I'll ask Jeremy to post a Discord link here, for those who haven't found their way to the Tripleshot channel yet.

Ciao!

Tour of Flanders--Online Edition

There will be a virtual Tour of Flanders this year, quite truncated and including just 13 riders. But might signal the start of something for pro-racing in this new world...
