Re: Safety Tips

Claire, maybe it isn't so much truck drivers per se, but more drivers are driving trucks. 4 of the top 5 vehicles sold in Canada are trucks (the Civic is number 3) with the Ford F series recording almost 3 x as many sales as the Civic. These top trucks represent almost 20% of the overall market for ...

Re: Hitch mount rack for 4

We have the Yakima Holdup with +2 for 4 bikes (so do Hugh and Michelle). Not sure a fat bike would fit the tray though... the release for the front wheel might interfere with the front fork. Usually tooling around on our car in the 2 bike mode- same maintenance schedule as Craig. You'll want another...

+1 to Martin's suggestion. Also, spray the sidewalls (beads) with soapy water to help them seat easier.

Re: CrossFondo Tyre Selection

+1 what Geoff says. There are lots of good tubeless compatible wheel sets these days with the explosion of disc equipped road bikes. If you don't have a set, get some. Since you are a N=1 bike guy, you should have a couple of wheel sets so you don't have to keep changing tires; which gets messy with...

Re: used Garmin?

Not the witty retort you were hoping from Claire. My uses, not in any particular order: -autolap, so for the SSS or cross race you know how many laps you have done (being hypoxic, you forgot to look at the lap board) -cadence- need speed cadence sensor or power meter to remind you to keep your caden...

Re: Cross Ride

Got my cross bike all ready last night, took it for a shake down spin and figured out I need brakes! Sorry I didn't make this AM- it looked perfect with the fog and ground that is actually wet. See you on Sunday (those doing COTR).

Re: Frame warranty

That's too bad John. When Trek wouldn't warranty my cracked carbon frame, I sent it to Robert's composites in Vancouver. It came back looking and feeling perfect. $350 well spent.

+1 for POtY
The days of Thunder reference was sublime.
Certainly a more enjoyable read than the Toronto Morning Glory Cycling Club rules and etiquette:

Re: Tire Pressure

I am newly running 28mm tubeless @ 65-70 PSI and loving the comfort, speed and grip. They are mounted on HED Ardennes Plus (25mm external, 21mm internal) so plump out to ~31mm. Aero smero; I'm old and fat, comfort is more important.

Shimano Carbon clincher wheelset

Shimano RS81-C35 nearly new- carbon clincher with aluminum brake track. Mounted the 25mm Grand Prix tires when they were new and have just worn away the nibs. Indestructible- I saw Fozzy use these as cross wheels. Free speed and did I say carbon? $550 for TS riders including 10sp cassette and the tw...

You hit the nail on the head Richie- not intuitive. It all sounds fine until a driver turns right into a rider (coming either way). Hope it doesn't happen....
