Re: Goose/Lochside/E&N Safety PSA

Slow down out there on the Goose. This past Sunday, my wife and 4 friends were riding on the Goose and were passed by the TS Sunday ride. She was squeezed right when a TS rider shot through the gap while another rider was passing her (ie, there was someone passing her on the left, then another rider...

Re: What the future gravel bike looks like?

Add the lefty from the Slate- unfortunately they don't sell that alone.
Wonder what it would be like on a cross course?

2011 Rocky Mountain Altitude 90- medium

I know this is a mostly road riding crew, but switching it up and riding trails is fun. Conditions out at Mount Work are perfect right now. Nimble, quick and light. Carbon frame, 140mm travel both ends. Shimano XT and high end Race Face components. On UsedVic for $1400, $1150 for TS members. https:/...

Re: Recommendations for a new bike

My wife has the Trek Checkpoint and it's a great bike, though you will have to buy the frame and do a custom build for Di2. Lot's of room for big tires, or skinny ones. For the Cross Fondo she rode 38mm knobbies and didn't flat. Not quite as light as your Domane, but loads more clearance and many bo...

The WSJ did a documentary about Denise Mueller-Korenek's record setting 184 mph ride in September last year. When you have 20 minutes- absolutely crazy.

Re: Gravel bike shopping-bot

Somehow my detailed reply disappeared into the ether.....this will be less detailed 'cus I don't have the time to do it twice. Look for big tire clearance, at least 1:1 gear ratio, lots of attachment points for bottles and racks (especially on the carbon forks for racks) and fender attachments. Get ...

Re: BC Bike Race

Great report Geoff- I'm glad you guys had a blast. You had me laughing several times reading your story. Very cool you had a Japanese XTR engineer adjust your derailleur.

Now if you can get to more of that drinking beer and eating all the food, cross season will be much better for me.

The 'weather permitting part', the forecast is for rain tomorrow. Will you post here by 1 if the training is a no-go?

Re: Is there a safer paceline configuration?

Sorry to hear about the accident and injury. Having ridden the slow version of 1b in Ottawa (maybe Dave D can chime in here) there are pros and cons. I will refer to the fast lane on the outside and the slow lane on the inside opposed to the illustration. The outside row pace is inconsistent as it y...
