Re: Anyone interested in racing as a team this year?

I think this is a terrific idea, and it builds on the "race games" that took place during regular club rides last year. Alan, a few of us (Heather S. Amy E., Ann .P and myself) went up and raced at the Masters TTT at Cowichan last summer and it was a blast. We had sunstroke but other than ...

Re: BSC Gravel Ride Sunday

Hi, Rob. I'm not completely sure but the event is listed as ending around 3pm. Of course, these things are a bit hard to predict. Here is a bit of info from the event: Two distances on offer: 1) 50km, 750m of climbing (Broad Street to the Great Trail suspension bridge) 2) 88km, 1650m of climbing (Ke...

BSC Gravel Ride Sunday

Hey, all. Broad St. Cycles is putting on a group gravel ride on the Great Trail this Sunday to launch a new relationship with Factor Bikes. Coffee and snacks at the shop at 9:30 before a 10:00 roll out. Two distances on offer. Come ride bikes with my crew, Factor's owner, and a local fast guy named ...

2016 Cervelo R5 Dura Ace Di2 demo bike up for grabs

The beautiful demo bike I've been enjoying is available for purchase. It's an XS - 48cm. I got this bike on the road in May of 2017. It got a fresh drivetrain in May of 2018 and has been meticulously maintained. Stiff, light, responsive. Original retail was somewhere over $10 000 and it's available ...

Re: Just have fun riding.

He's a great guy. Friendly and non-judgemental. When I've chatted with him it's always been about having fun, being healthy, enjoying the ride. Plus, he carries snacks in his bar bag. 👍

Re: Giro_Sardinia_Sardegna

I am interested. Intimidated, but interested. If I commit, I might get Annie Ewart to provide me with a training plan, and I'm able to share her contact info if anyone else is interested: ewart1annie@gmail.com For those who may not know, Annie is a retired pro, originally from Victoria, currently li...

Re: Victoria Women's 100km Ride, Saturday July 21

Well, it seems that when a few women decide to throw an event with about 12 days to plan......it will be a HUGE success! We had an excellent turnout of about 65 women on a gorgeous day. It was particularly gratifying to see so many former Tripleshot Women's Clinic riders come out and even lead group...

Re: Olympic Discovery Trail Experiences?

Just to clarify, we went in the ither direction. We took the main road from Port Townsend to Discovery Bay and then followed the Olympic Discovery Trail on to Port Angeles. The trail between Discovery Bay and Port Angeles is absolutely fine for a road bike. I don't think the section between Port Tow...

I rode that trail twice last summer on my road bike. Very manageable.
